It is a gathering of the family.

Chris Pérez, the late legend Selena Quintanilla-Pérez’s husband, recently visited Corpus Christi, Texas, and while there, he caught up with the Quintanilla family. Chris Pérez was Selena’s husband.

On Wednesday, Pérez stated in an Instagram post that he had spent time with Selena’s father, Abraham Isaac Quintanilla Jr., as well as Selena’s sister, Suzette Quintanilla. Pérez’s message was published on Instagram.

“Today I went on a trip to Corpus Christi. Can you guess where I ended up? Pérez said in an Instagram post, which was accompanied by two different images with Abraham and Suzette.

In addition, he said, “It was so good to see everyone and see the amazing operations of Q. Productions, but catching up with Suzette and Abraham was the most important thing.” Can’t wait to come back and see everyone with my family when I do! Have a good time!”

Pérez’s decades-long legal dispute with the Quintanilla family was finally resolved two years prior to the reunion’s taking place.

Abraham reportedly fought hard against Pérez’s plans to adapt his biography To Selena, With Love into a miniseries, as reported by ABC7 News. Pérez’s book was published in 2012.

Pérez was sued by Selena’s father, who also went after the two production firms that had plans to adapt the novel into a television program. According to the allegations made in the complaint, after Selena was murdered in 1995, her husband “signed a deal that gave all rights to Selena’s likeness and name to her estate.”

In 2017, a court in Texas determined that the case may go forward, but attorneys representing Pérez moved to have the action thrown out based on “free speech grounds.” The judge denied their petition.

By 2021, Pérez announced in a tweet that the legal dispute he had been having with the Quintanilla family had been “amicably resolved.”

“Now that these issues are behind us, going forward, my hope, and the hope of the Quintanilla family, is for us to work together to continue to honor and celebrate the legacy of Selena,” he wrote. “Now that these issues are behind us, going forward, my hope, and the hope of the Quintanilla family, is for us to work together.”

After a short courtship, Quintanilla and Pérez decided to elope and were married for three years before the singer, who was born in Texas, was killed in 1995 by Yolanda Saldvar, the head of the fan club that Quintanilla had founded.

Saldavar fatally shot Selena after stealing money from the singer, who had hired her to look over her clothes businesses. This occurred barely two weeks before the day that would have been Selena’s 24th birthday, which was April 16.

In October 1995, a judge ruled that Saldvar was responsible for the murder in the first degree for which he was prosecuted. She was given a sentence that included a life term in jail with no chance of release.

The Queen of Tejano Music was taken from us before she could complete recording her highly anticipated English CD Dreaming of You. It made its debut on the Billboard 200 chart at number one after the artist’s death and stayed on the list for a total of 49 weeks. Following that, her single “Dreaming of You” reached its highest position on the Hot 100 at number 22, where it remained for a total of 20 weeks.
