Charity Webb, who is now 29 years old and serves as a Military Sergeant, encountered a stray dog when she was working as a chef in Europe. The dog had been wandering about the military installation. The dog eventually gave birth to pups, one of which displayed extreme timidity towards the troops.
Webb fell head over heels in love with the little puppy almost immediately, and the dog seemed to feel the same way about her. Webb was the only service member there who was capable of holding her without causing her to lose her composure or start weeping.

Webb invested a significant amount of time and effort into winning her confidence by providing her with food and reassuring her that the other troops would only help her and not harm her.

However, unfortunately, there were some around who intended to do her harm. The majority of the time, Webb was required to protect the dog, whom she referred to as Puppy Puppy, from dog catchers, who were keen to eliminate any stray animals.

During Webb’s stay in Europe, she and Pup forged a very close connection—one that, once formed, Webb realized she could not sever under any circumstances. However, when it came time for Webb’s assignment to be over, she was terrified that Puppy Pup would pass away without her there.

It was at that time that she became aware of the charitable organization known as Paws of War, whose mission is to re-unite returning service members with the animals they had been responsible for while serving abroad.

They were forced to wait until they had saved up enough money to send the puppy to the United States, which typically costs $7,000, since the group relies exclusively on donations to fund its operations. Because of a story that was published in the New York Post, Paws of War was able to not only raise enough money to transport Puppy to the United States, but they were also able to save a second puppy with the money that they raised!

Webb and Pup were finally able to see one other again in a heartwarming moment after being separated for a number of months. As soon as she got out of the vehicle and saw her new mommy for good, Puppy Pup flipped over onto her back and started wagging her tail.
