On Thursday, the former Dynasty cast member, who is now 90 years old, posted a picture on Instagram that she took during her daughter Katy’s birthday party.
“I am overjoyed to commemorate the birth of my gorgeous daughter Katy by throwing a great dinner party for all of Katy’s close friends. She captioned the photo with the hashtags “#birthdaygirl #celebration #party #friends #proudmother.”
Collins attended the celebrations wearing a blue dress with an off-shoulder design and a silver necklace that made a statement. Her hair was pulled back into a sleek bun. Katy decided to dress in green, and she wore a huge headband in black to complement her outfit.
On Tuesday, Katy turned 51 years old, and she was showered with birthday wishes from her famous pals, including Jane Seymour, who said in a remark that “You both look so beautiful Congrats.” Both Gabriela Peacock and Alana Stwart wished Katy a happy birthday in an Instagram post with the caption “Happy birthday to Katy @joancollinsdbe.”
Collins and Katy, her youngest child, were born after Collins married her third husband, Ron Kass. The actress also has a daughter named Tara Newley, who is 59 years old, and a son named Alexander Newley, who is 57 years old. Both of her children were born with her second husband, Anthony Newley.
In spite of the fact that Collins has chosen to keep most of her family life secret, she spoke frankly about her daughter Katy’s near-fatal vehicle accident when she was a toddler in the documentary This Is Joan Collins, which she filmed in 2022. Collins described to the catastrophe as the “worst thing that ever happened” to her.
“I was informed that she was likely to die after she was struck by a car and had extremely significant brain damage. She had been pushed down by the vehicle. Collins said that she had been in a coma for a very extended period of time.
