On this episode of iCarly, Miranda Cosgrove gives her opinion on how fans are reacting to Carly and Freddie’s decision to make their relationship official. The two close friends at last came clean about their emotions for one another during the third season of the revived series that is being shown by Paramount+. This marked the end of years of speculation as to whether or not they would eventually embark on a romantic relationship.
During her visit to the New York City office, Cosgrove said with Entertainment Tonight that “it felt really good to actually see Carly and Freddie be together.” “When I read the screenplay, I was like, ‘Sixteen years, finally it’s happening.’ So there was a little amount of pressure however because Nathan and I really wanted to make sure that it delivered since people waited for so long. “When I read the script, I was like, ‘Sixteen years, finally it’s happening.'” However, when the episode was finally released, it was a huge relief, and it seems that a lot of people liked watching it, which is fantastic.
The fact that the kiss between Carly and Freddie wasn’t included in the screenplay and that it was truly improvised was revealed by the actress as well as the executive producer, which made the moment all the more unforgettable for the audience.
“When we’re making iCarly, the writers are always on set, and they come over and they’ll throw out ideas and we’ll do different things almost every take,” she added. “They come over and they’ll throw out ideas and we’ll do different things almost every take.” “So it’s not pure improvisation because the writers are coming up with different ideas and throwing them at us, but it keeps us on our toes and it’s really fun filming that way,” said one of the actors. “But it’s really fun filming that way.” And since we never know what will make it into the finished product, the very last take of the scene in which Carly and Freddie eventually declare their love for one another was used. It turned out that the very last take was the one that was used on the program, and it was the only one in which Freddie counted down from five to three as Carly planted a kiss on his cheek.
Cosgrove believes that the 16-year wait for “Creddie” to work out was well worth it now that so much time has elapsed since the beginning of the project.
“I believe that it does make sense for Carly and Freddie since, in the original show, Freddie has a crush or loves Carly from the very beginning. since of this, I believe that it does make sense for Carly and Freddie. And despite the fact that Carly loves him and considers him her greatest friend, she does not really see him in that light,” she said. “And it sort of seems like throughout the whole series, it was just the wrong moment, like Carly either loved Freddie and Freddie is married, or Freddie loved Carly and Carly did not see him that way. It was either one of those two scenarios. Like, it’s just never ideal. This definitely seemed like it was the time when they were both in the appropriate positions in their life and could finally go for it.”
Carly and her pals continue to have a difficult time navigating the complexities of adulthood in the current, third season of the revival, which premieres brand new episodes every Thursday on Paramount+. Carly and Freddie are having trouble redefining their relationship, also known as #Creddie; Spencer is trying to go back to his roots; and Harper’s meeting with an old adversary results to an unexpected consequence.
“One of my favorite things about getting to be a part of iCarly for all of these years is that people will come up to me and say, ‘I grew up with you.’ When I did the initial show, I actually grew up creating the show, and now I’m producing it as an adult. One of my favorite things about getting to be a part of iCarly for all of these years is that people will come up to me and say, ‘I grew up with you. “When people come up to me and say things like, ‘I watched it when I was little, and now, I’m watching it again as an adult,’ it’s crazy to think that it was a part of their lives and that people really enjoyed it,” Cosgrove said. “Clearly, it plays a significant role in my life. It is simply a really pleasant experience overall. When people say things like that to me, it never fails to brighten my day and lifts my spirits; it’s nearly impossible for me to properly comprehend this fact.
She went on to explain that she, Jerry Trainor, and Nathan Kress, who were also a part of the group, “feel so lucky that we got to relive this experience together.” They’re almost like a member of the family. They’re on par with two of my best buddies in the world. Therefore, the opportunity to experience the same thing again, but this time as grownups and with people watching the program again, is something that I am really grateful for,” Cosgrove expressed her gratitude by saying. “The audience has been committed to watching this program for such a long time. And, you know, it’s just been a wonderful experience for me all the way through my life.”
The actress, who is now 30 years old, said that she did not believe it was possible for her to perform the role of Carly at any point in her life, much less when she was an adult. When asked how long she anticipated portraying the part, Cosgrove responded by saying that she would leave it up to chance.
You can never predict where your life is going to lead you. She said, “I could see myself playing Carly as long as people are enjoying watching the revival, but I also don’t want to overstay our welcome, and I feel like people have been so nice about it and really responded well, so I want to make sure that we don’t do it for too long, but we ended on the perfect note.” I could see myself playing Carly as long as people are enjoying watching the revival.
Cosgrove has stated that she has done everything (and then some) while playing the role of Carly on this iCarly revival, but she has some ideas for new things that she would want to do if the show is renewed for a fourth season. There is currently no end date in sight for this iCarly revival.
“I have, without a doubt, dressed up as pretty much everything there is to dress up as for the performance. Even the thought of coming up with anything novel is difficult. When we return to the program, I really hope that we will be able to do more sketches on it since we don’t really do as much of that kind of thing on the current season as we did in the first one. “I’d love it if I could get the chance to do some more of that,” added Cosgrove. “In the first one, I played the role of a country girl, and it was something that I always found to be a lot of fun. I’d be quite interested in doing that again, and I’m always excited to think of fresh ideas. It’s just a lot of joy to get to portray a character that is so wacky and ridiculous and is just being herself, and who doesn’t care about [anything]. Because I am so similar to this person in real life, playing this role comes naturally to me. I’m simply going through with it and enjoying myself.”
