The actress Shannen Doherty is providing an update on her current health status.

After disclosing in February of 2020 that she had been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, the actress, who is 52 years old, said on Tuesday that a CT scan that was done on January 5 revealed that she had brain metastases. According to the Mayo Clinic, the illness arises when cancer cells travel from their primary location to other parts of the body, including the brain.

She said in the caption of an Instagram video showing her undergoing radiation treatment, “January 12 was the first day of radiation,” explaining that she had begun the treatment. “It is clear that I am terrified. I have a severe fear of enclosed spaces, and at the time, there was a lot going on in my life.

She went on to say, “I am fortunate because I have great doctors like Dr. Amin Mirahdi and the amazing techs at Cedars-Sinai,” and she felt this was a reflection of her good fortune. “But that fear…. The turmoil…. the timing of it all…. This is what it can look like to have cancer.”

Doherty’s confession was made public when the former Charmed star posted a video to Instagram on June 5 showing herself being fitted for the mask she wore while having treatment. The video was accompanied with the message “January 9, 2023.” Doherty’s admission comes as a result of this.

Doherty had previously provided an update on her health at a Charmed panel that took place in March at the 90s Con with Rose McGowan, Holly Marie Combs, Brian Krause, Dorian Gregory, and Drew Fuller. The panel was led by Breanne L. Heldman, and it included Holly Marie Combs, Brian Krause, and Drew Fuller.

Doherty had the following response when she was asked how she was doing: “I’m feeling terrific, thank you! … This audience is really incredible!

Doherty has often posted updates on her treatment ever since she was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, and even since she announced that the illness had returned after remission the following year (2017).

“Is everything so lovely? In October 2021, she said on Instagram that “NO but it’s truthful and my hope in sharing is that we all become more educated, more familiar with what cancer looks like.” “I hope that I can encourage people to get mammograms, to get regular checkups, and to cut through the fear and face whatever might be in front of you,” she said. “It’s important to stay on top of your health.”
