At some point, a number of workers at the Skeletons Museum of Osteology came to the conclusion that they would benefit from having a workplace pet. They came to the conclusion that a cat would be more suitable than a dog given the abundance of bones that were laying about, so they established the Kitty Committee and easily persuaded management to allow them to bring a cat into their workplace family.
The committee was debating who they should look for as they drove to the Moore Animal Shelter to acquire their new companion as they were simultaneously engaged in the discussion. A cat? A kitten? What kind of feline do you think would be most appropriate for the museum? They had no idea that Sir Indiana Bones was going to decide for them. They were in for a surprise.

Brenna Glover, a member of the Kitty Committee, was quoted in an article published by The Dodo as saying, “Once we were in the cattery, we just couldn’t make up our minds.” “However, Indy had. Indy took the necessary steps to capture and maintain our attention. He would reach out with his paw and grasp Kristin, who was a member of the Kitty Committee, then slink around all of us and give everyone the cutest snuggles. We had no doubt that Indy was the one. He decided on us.

After it became evident that Indy would be leaving with them, the shelter made the decision to forego his adoption cost and sent him off with everything he would need to flourish in his new home. Indy had made it plain that he would be going with them. Even the members of the Kitty Committee were a bit uncertain about how Indy would adjust to his new museum and office home, but fortunately, he made himself at home practically immediately, which is how he ended up getting the “Sir” portion of his name.
“In the beginning, he would test his limits by climbing specifically on the skulls that were hanging on the wall,” recalled Glover. “[T]he skulls were hanging on the wall.” “Whenever we caught him engaging in some mischievous behavior, we would yell at him, ‘SIR, NO!'” And thus is how the title of Sir was acquired.”

Now that he’s matured, Indy is aware of his limitations, and he very much oversees everything in the workplace and museum. He has a variety of favorite places that he loves to hang out in, but where you’ll find him will mostly rely on his disposition as well as the activities that are occurring in his environment.

According to Glover, the elephant skull in the middle of the floor is one of the dog’s favorite places to curl up. When there is a Skele-Zen (yoga) event, he like to be at the front, either teaching the class or stretching with the attendees. He enjoys being in the classroom, particularly when there is a Skullairum event or an art class going on. When the weather is nice, he loves to sit in the area of the gift store that gets the most sunlight. When he’s in the mood for some additional conversation, he prefers to hang around at the ticket desk. Additionally, when he is in the mood to be antisocial, he enjoys curling up with his laptop in the rear office area.

Indy spends a significant amount of time working in the administrative sections of the museum; but, during the weekends, when the administrative areas are closed, he is free to roam the museum as he pleases. This is, of course, unless one of the committee members chooses to take him home for the weekend. Because the team places a high value on Indy’s contributions, they make it a point to constantly be attentive to his requirements and preferences.

According to Glover, “His typical response to visitors is a warm and welcoming one.” “He truly thrives when the spotlight is on him. If he believes that doing so would get him belly rubs, he is more likely to be goofy. If he is not in the mood to interact with other people, we do not force him to do so. He is his own guy and lives his life according to his own rules.
Meeting Indy is something that almost everyone who visits the museum looks forward to doing. He was taken in to assist improve morale in the workplace, but he ended up being a well-known mascot that offers delight to everyone he encounters.
