With her performance of “Tattoo,” Loreen of Sweden was crowned the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. She is the first woman to ever win the competition on two separate occasions.
After a nail-bitingly tight grand final, which saw the “Euphoria” singer face off against her closest competitor, Finland’s Kaarija, Loreen was able to pull off her extraordinary victory. Kaarija emerged in second place. Although he received the most votes from the general public, Loreen wound up with the most points when the results of the public vote and the jury vote were combined.
In the end, Loreen ended her second appearance at Eurovision with an incredible score of 583 points, while Kaarija came in second place with an outstanding score of 526. Noa Kirel of Israel finished in third place with 362 points, followed by Italy with 350 points and Norway with 268 points to round out the top five.
On the opposite end of the spectrum was Germany, who managed to finish in dead last position with a total of 18 points. Many people had very high hopes for Mae Muller of the United Kingdom, but in the end, “I Wrote a Song” finished in second-to-last place with only 24 points.
Aside from that, Ukraine came in sixth place, and Belgium’s overtly gay ode to dance came in seventh place after earning tremendous ovation from the audience at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool.

Loreen was immediately escorted to the stage to play her song “Tattoo” for a second time after the hosts Hannah Waddingham and Graham Norton revealed that she had won the competition.
Loreen was overcome with emotion when she accepted the trophy that had been awarded to her by the 2022 winners, Kalush Orchestra. She stated, “This is overwhelming.” I am overjoyed, and I am quite grateful.
She then extended her gratitude to the people in the audience by saying, “Thank you for this. This is intended for you.
