It is always a cause for celebration when a dog from a shelter is adopted, and sometimes the stars align in such a way that it is the perfect time for these dogs to find their forever homes.

During Her Ride to Freedom, a Dog That Was Rescued From a Kill Shelter Gave Birth – The Dodo

This was the situation with Lizzy, a pregnant terrier that Rebecca Lynch, the executive director of Poodle and Pooch Rescue of Florida, stepped in to save just in the nick of time. The fact that Lizzy had a broken limb when she was staying at a shelter in Georgia with a high kill rate made her position very dangerous.

While on vacation in Georgia, Rebecca and her husband made the decision to go to an animal shelter in order to adopt a dog, more especially the most disadvantaged puppy. That dog’s name was Lizzy, and Rebecca had prepared a space in her vehicle for Lizzy to rest during the drive back to Florida. Lizzy had a successful delivery of a healthy litter of pups while they were away. After the terrifying ordeal, Lizzy and all of her pups were finally able to settle into their new homes.

Lizzy has made a successful adjustment to her new home and has developed into a happy and loving dog in spite of the horrible events that occurred in her past. Rebecca says that she has a sweet personality and that she is really lovable. The adoption of Lizzy could not have taken place at a more appropriate time, and Rebecca will never forget the path that led to the adoption of her daughter.
