This is Poly, a lovable stray cat who, for better or for worse, is virtually unstoppable.
To such an extent that, in point of fact, even her thoughts are infectious.

Madeline T. Stevens-Saadeh and her family are the owners of the cat, and the cunning feline has found a method to circumvent the laws that are in place in the home they share with her. The cat is not one to shy away from a little bit of defiance.
However, Poly did not end his work there. Mila, the family dog, joined in on the fun as well thanks to her efforts.

There is a glass door inside Stevens-Saadeh’s house that is designed to be kept shut most of the time so that her animals may be contained within the main living area. It eventually became Stevens-Saadeh’s habit to close the door behind her, and it seemed as if her dogs understood that this signified that the area was off-limits to them.
However, one day after entering the room, Stevens-Saadeh noticed that the door had been mysteriously opened, and Poly was standing directly in front of her.
“She taught herself how to open doors,” Stevens-Saadeh added. “She’s very good at it.”

Poly was suddenly free to come and go as she wanted when she had an epiphany about how doors functioned, so sidestepped the limits that had previously constrained her motion. Nevertheless, it is obvious that she was unable to keep the defiant new trick all to herself.
Not shortly after that, Poly started teaching her puppy sister Mia how to open the door as Stevens-Saadeh watched from behind the closed glass door.
“Mila sat there and watched her,” Stevens-Saadeh said. Mila learned how to do it from her.

After then, the closed glass door had effectively lost all of its capacity to restrict the movement of pets.
“Once Mila figured it out, there was no stopping her,” Stevens-Saadeh said. “Once she figured it out, there was no stopping her.”
But while Poly appeared content to only make selective use of the new ability, Mila made the decision to go even further with it. It wasn’t long until she was opening doors all around the house, including this one, which led to the backyard:
The newly acquired ability was a resounding endorsement of Polly and Mila’s smarts. Putting aside the defiance for a moment, Stevens-Saadeh was impressed. On the other hand, she came to the conclusion that it would be best for everyone if she replaced the locks on the external doors so that they were more difficult to unlock.
Poly and Mila have been shown to be lacking in intelligence, at least for the time being.
“They are highly, highly intelligent,” Stevens-Saadeh observed of the people. They are dear to us. They are related to us.”
