Dogs that have been abandoned will often remain in one place and wait for their owners to come back, according to the experiences of rescuer Suzette Hall. Lost dogs, on the other hand, will typically wander about.
Therefore, when a group of good Samaritans notified Hall that a dog had been hiding beneath a construction sign beside a busy road for three days, Hall realized that capturing the frightened canine would be a difficult task because of the location of the dog’s hiding spot. Not only was the puppy situated in a spot that was difficult to access, but she also wouldn’t have wanted to be removed from the area in which she had high hopes of reuniting with her family.

And despite the best efforts of the whole community, Hall was correct.
According to what Hall told The Dodo, “She was so afraid of people.” “People would try to go sit with her, or walk past her with their dogs, and she would just bark at them.” “People would try to go sit with her.”
Some neighbors who couldn’t get physically near to the dog nonetheless participated to the rescue attempt in other ways, such as the guy who offered to boil hot dogs for Hall to use as bait. Other neighbors were able to get close enough to the dog that they were able to pet it.
However, regardless of the fact that the dog’s stomach was empty and there were warm hot dogs in the trap, the dog did not go in.

Therefore, after spending a significant amount of time attempting to capture the dog without success, Hall made the decision to leave her trap at the construction site overnight and return first thing in the morning in order to try once again.
When Hall arrived back at the construction site the next morning, the dog was still in the same spot where the rescuer had left her, but something about the situation had changed. This time, the dog seemed to be less startled, and the neighborhood was quieter than usual.

Hall said, “I spruced up the trap and then pretended that I was going to leave.” “As I was driving down the street, I looked back and saw her standing up and beginning to circle the trap.”
When Hall arrived back at the construction site, she discovered the dog to be secure within the trap that she had set.

“Once I got her out of my trap, she was so scared,” remarked Hall after he had successfully freed her.
“She had the appearance of a frozen pancake. But she was such a kind person,” she said. “As a result, I devoted a significant amount of my time to simply loving on her and rubbing her.”
After that, Hall brought the dog to the veterinarian, where they had prepared a calm, secluded room just for her to relax in for the next three days.
They decided on a name for the dog that was appropriate for her as a group. “We named her Bella,” Hall added. To us, she looked nothing less than a princess from Walt Disney World.
The moment Bella realized she was loved and protected, according to Hall, she began to emerge from her reclusive state and become more outgoing.
And since a kind veterinary technician offered to foster Bella, Hall is certain that the adorable puppy will continue to flourish under her care and will, at long last, have the happily-ever-after that she so rightfully deserves.
“That teeny-tiny construction site sign doesn’t have to serve as her residence any longer,” remarked Hall. “And now there is no longer any need for her to hold out.”
