There were many individuals who tried to help him, but since he was afraid of people, they were unable to get a hold of him. Kimberly Saxelby and Chris Gattas made the executive decision to rush out to the area in order to rescue the unfortunate kitty.
“When we arrived, we set a catch just two feet away from him while he was lying under a car. We waited for an hour, but we discovered that he was not entering because of the tape roll on his head, so we had no choice but to attempt to catch him with our nets. “When we arrived, we set a catch just two feet away from him while he was lying under a car. “Chris was able to catch him with the pole net as he tried to run out after they had chased him for some time and cornered him inside an old shed,” Kimberly said. “After they had chased him for some time and had cornered him inside the old shed.”
They believe that the roll of tape that was on his neck had been there for many months. They took the cat and brought it to the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Sanctuary so that it could begin its treatment there.
” We actually believed that there was a dead animal near the shed; however, it was actually the smell of his rotting flesh and infection coming from his neck.”
It wasn’t until we took the roll of tape off his neck that any of us realized exactly how serious his issue was after we drugged him and put him under. It caused me to have tears in my eyes because I couldn’t fathom the amount of physical and emotional anguish that this poor, adorable cat has been forced to endure for as long as he has. Because he is unable to eat or drink properly when the tape roll is over his head, he is terribly underweight and dehydrated.
The wonderful vets working at the shelter performed emergency surgery on the ginger youngster in order to clean and repair the region all the way around his entire neck and above his ears.
” Given that this sweet boy was rescued on Valentine’s Day, we decided to give this dashing youngster the name Valentine.”
