The daily activities of a person who rescued a beautiful puppy that had been left in a landfill have ensured that the dog would have a long and happy life.

Pet rescuer Takis Proestakis comes across left pets on an almost daily basis in the garbage in their community. In point of fact, it was his rescue of a lone dog that was left at a rubbish dump that inspired him to establish Takis Shelter.

On the island of Crete in Greece, unwanted dogs are routinely discarded at the rubbish dump in the same manner as regular trash. As the dump is on its way to Takis Shelter, Takis will always bring home an additional dog when he returns home. This happened on a specific day in question when Takis became aware of Samu’s presence.

Because Samu’s white hair was the same color as the mattress he was hiding beneath, he almost completely disappeared into his surroundings.

“Here we are again,” asserts Takis as he lets his dog Zoe out of his truck in the rescue video (which can be seen below). It comes as no surprise that Takis’s hope that Zoe would play a role in bringing the dog to him is granted.

Even as soon as the puppy is secured inside the vehicle, Takis can’t help but stare in awe at the adorable animal. He adds, “Take a look at this gorgeous face,” pointing out that this particular little dog is still wearing a blue collar at the time of the conversation.

Samu is brought back to Takis’s sanctuary, which is nestled on the edge of a mountain in the middle of an olive grove by Takis. At any one moment, the shelter is home to more than three hundred dogs.

Samu was originally timid among the other animals, but the puppy eventually relaxed around them and began to play with the other dogs at the shelter after some initial hesitation.

It is not necessary for Samu to make an effort in order to attract the attention of a tourist from another country who fosters dogs for Takis at her house in Finland. Samu will soon be in Finland, where he will make friends with two other rescued dogs from the Takis Shelter. He is now on the path that will lead him to the happiest existence possible!
