The 34-year-old actress shared what it was like for her to be pregnant in April 2023, including all of the things she craved when she was pregnant as well as her aspirations for her future kid.
On December 20, 2022, Moore’s oldest daughter Rumer posted a carousel of black and white photographs on her social media accounts in order to announce that she was about to become pregnant with the child of her boyfriend Thomas. It will be Willis and Moore’s first grandchild if the baby is a boy. Moore, a proud mother, re-posted the photographs and added a brilliantly humorous description to her post, which read, “Entering my hot kooky unhinged grandma era.”
According to an article published in PEOPLE in March 2023, Rumer and Thomas attended a baby shower in Los Angeles that was hosted by Moore, Scout, and Tallulah. During the private party, the soon-to-be parents gave a performance together. And during an interview on the “Bathroom Chronicles” podcast in February 2023, Rumer said that being a mother was something that she had always wanted to do.
“It’s like one of those weird things that I know sometimes people have such clarity about, like ‘Oh, I want to be a musician, I want this,’ and it was never a question for me that I wanted to be a mom,” she added. “It’s like one of those weird things that I know sometimes people have such clarity about.”
She continued by saying, “And that just seemed like such a divine purpose and something that, when I started thinking about it, felt like such joy.”
In an interview that she gave to PEOPLE in April 2023, Rumer discussed how her pregnancy has been doing thus far. She referred to the event as “humbling” and claimed that she could already feel her kid wriggling around inside of her. She has also been reading books to get herself ready for when the time comes for her to become a mother. She referred to herself as a “birth junkie” as she was ready to have her first kid.
Rumer said, “… It’s just crazy. It’s the craziest experience I’ve ever had, much crazier than I ever imagined it would be.”
The actress went on to clarify that she does not yet know the gender of the child, but that she has chosen several names that are “interesting, unique, and different” for the child.
Rumer, like other pregnant women, has had some strange urges to eat certain foods. She said to PEOPLE that her ideal meal consisted of sauerkraut, strawberry ice cream, and lemonade. Super inexpensive lemonade. I’m fascinated.”
The actress remarked on what a blessing it was for her to have such a caring and encouraging family around her. Rumer expressed her gratitude by saying, “I’m so thankful that I’m so close with my family and that I get to depend on them for support.” “It’s exciting to be welcoming the first grandchild into our family, especially considering how large our group already is at this point,” said the family member.
Rumer discussed her plans for the future and shared her expectations for the kind of person her kid would become. She worried whether her child will have the same innate “goofiness” that she claimed to have inherited from Bruce and Moore. Rumer said, “We’re a family of weirdos, and I love that so much,” referring to her own ancestry. “I really hope that this quality is fostered in the youngster in question. Having fun and making jokes with my loved ones is one of my top priorities.
Rumer expressed her excitement at the prospect of being a mother and said the following:
“I just cannot wait to finally get to know them. I’m simply so happy. I get the impression that I can sometimes just feel the energy of this child, and I simply can’t wait to hear them laugh, to find out who they are, to play with them, and to get to know them.
