Chris Pine is eager to reprise his role as Prince William in The Princess Diaries starring Anne Hathaway in the film’s long-awaited third chapter; the only change will be that he will have a new hairdo.

During the Dungeons & Dragons: Honor event on Sunday, Pine, who is 42 years old, gave an interview to Entertainment Tonight. During the Los Angeles premiere of Among Thieves, the actor said that he would be pleased to be considered for a role in a further installment of The Princess Diaries if the opportunity were presented to him.

“I am indeed present here! I’m going to show up for it “was questioned about recent rumors that a third movie was in the works, and he said that to the publication that asked him about it. “Give me — either a phone call or an email,” the request said.

Pine is best known for making his film debut in the sequel to The Princess Diaries, titled The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004). In this film, he starred alongside Hathaway, who is now 40 years old, in the role of Nicholas Devereaux. By the end of the sequel, Hathaway’s character, Mia Thermopolis, falls in love with Pine’s character.

In addition, the actor shared with Entertainment Tonight on Sunday that he would choose a “low-profile hair helmet” rather than the long locks he had in the romantic comedy from 2004, should he decide to reprise his role in the franchise.

Back in November, rumors began to circulate that Disney was working on a third installment of The Princess Diaries film series. During the Sundance Film Festival in January, Hathaway said that it is “thrilling” to “see the degree of buzz” for the impending production and that she is “really excited” about it.

In reference to the almost twenty-year wait for the next installment in the series, she said, “We feel exactly the same, and I realize it’s probably quite annoying.” “It’s a process that involves patience, and because of how long it really takes to produce things, anybody should consider themselves to be a part of the movie industry today, since this is how long it actually takes to make things.”

It has been rumored that Aadrita Mukerji, a television writer who has worked on shows such as Supergirl and Reacher, is creating a script for the third installment of the Princess Diaries film series. When initial rumors of the sequel’s production were made public, Disney’s representatives did not react to requests for a comment on the project, which concerned the sequel.

Before the film Mother’s Day was released in 2016, the director Garry Marshall said that he and the actress had explored the possibility of doing another round of filming for the movie, in which she would play the character of Mia Thermopolis once again.

Marshall was the director of the first two Princess Diaries movies until he passed away in July 2016. Pine was mentioned as a prospective participant in the late director’s plans for a third film only a few months before he passed away.

When asked about Pine’s possible participation at the time, Marshall responded with a “maybe.” You should realize that he’s become very large by now.

Julie Andrews, who also plays in the franchise, has said in the past that morphing into Queen Clarisse Renaldi for a future film in the series is “probably not going to be doable.” This comment was made to Access Hollywood back in December.

“That was discussed not long after [the second sequel] was made available to the public, but how many years have passed since then?” Andrews, then 87 years old, commented at the time. “And I am that much older, whereas Annie, the princess or the queen, is that much older than I am. In addition, I am unsure of whether or not it will float or run.”
