According to the official accounts, Dax Tejera, an executive producer for This Week on ABC who passed away in December, suffocated to loss while under the influence of alcohol.
According to the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, who confirmed the information, Tejera, who was 37 years old, passed away on December 23 from “asphyxia owing to blockage of the airway by food bolus aggravating acute alcohol intoxication.”
According to the office’s findings, the loss was an accident.
Tejera’s cause of loss was previously stated to be a heart attack in a memo written by ABC News president Kim Godwin and distributed to staff members in December.
Tejera is survived by his wife Veronica Tejera, who is 33 years old, as well as his children Sofia, who is 2 years old, and Ella, who is 7 months old.
On the same evening that Tejera was found passed, police were dispatched to the hotel that he and Veronica were staying in close to Grand Central Terminal due to concerns regarding children who were left unattended.
According to the Deputy Commissioner Public Information Office of the New York Police Department, Veronica was taken into custody and charged with two counts of “acting in a manner injurious to a child.”
The organization claims that the two young girls were abandoned for a significant amount of time inside of a hotel room.
Nevertheless, Veronica discussed the event in question with Entertainment Tonight about a month ago.
The woman who is a mother to two children has issued a statement in which she claims that she made a “bad judgment” by leaving the children alone.
“When Dax passed out on December 23rd, I was there to accompany him in the ambulance as he was taken to the hospital. I requested a close friend as well as my parents to get to the hotel room where my children were staying so that they could take care of them while I observed them via webcam. My friend was unable to check in at the hotel, so the front desk called the NYPD on him “according to the statement. “During the time that I was away from my children, we kept a close eye on them using two cameras that were pointed in their direction while they slept. Even though there was no harm done to the girls, I now see that my choice was a poor one.”
“A terrible accident has occurred that has affected our family. While my children and I are grieving over Dax’s passing, I would appreciate your respect in maintaining our privacy “Veronica said.
This Week with George Stephanopoulos was enhanced by Tejera’s contributions as a producer.
Tejera has transformed the once-struggling political program into a Sunday morning phenomenon in the roughly three years that have passed since he took control of the show.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tejera’s tenure at the show began immediately before the COVID-19 pandemic in the year 2020. This was three years after he started working as a senior producer for ABC News in the year 2017. Prior to that, he worked at MSNBC as a producer and also served as an executive producer for the show that Jorge Ramos hosted on Fusion.
Univision anchor Jorge Ramos once said of his former colleague, “Despite his age, he was already one of the most accomplished news producers in America.” Ramos was speaking about his former colleague. Nothing seems to be out of the question for him.
