Since the 1970s, when he first started making appearances in movies, Richard Gere, an American actor, has been considered a leading man in the Hollywood film industry. Gere was able to carve out a significant place for himself in the entertainment world despite the fact that he had rather modest origins as a child growing up in Syracuse, New York.

Although he has appeared in a large number of critically acclaimed films over the past few decades, two of his most well-known roles are as Edward Lewis in “Pretty Woman,” where he played a rich playboy from New York who falls in love with a Hollywood prostitute portrayed by Julia Roberts, and as lawyer Billy Flynn in the hit musical “Chicago.” Both of these films were released in the 1990s.

Gere received Golden Globe Medal nominations for both of these performances; however, the award for “Pretty Woman” eluded him, but he did take home the trophy for “Chicago” in 2003, which was given to the Best Actor in that year.

Gere’s natural charisma and good looks led to rumors that he was involved with a number of women in the Hollywood industry. Actresses Dawn Steel, Loree Rodkin, Carole Mallory, Tuesday Weld, and even Barbra Streisand are among the names said to have been engaged in romantic relationships with him. In addition, he was connected to Priscilla Presley and Kim Basinger at one point.

In addition to these ladies, Gere has been married twice, first to Cindy Crawford and then to Carey Lowell. In recent years, he has been happily married to the Spanish publicist Alejandra Silva, who is 33 years younger than he is. But despite the fact that their age difference is nearly three decades, Silva has said that she is not troubled by it.

It should come as no surprise that Gere is every bit as passionate in real life as he is in the numerous romantic comedies in which he has featured, as he creates songs for his lovely wife.

Gere gave an interview to Extra as part of the promotional tour for his new film “Maybe I Do,” in which he stars with Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton, and Emma Roberts. In the interview, Gere discussed the intricacies of marriage, which is a prominent topic in the movie.

During an interview with Extra that evolved into a couples confessional, Gere was asked how he connects to the concept that relationships get more complex the longer one is in them.

The answer that Gere provided was really forthright. He reflected on the fact that he had previously been married three times and made the observation that a person who is in a relationship is always in a state of “trying to find out” who they are as the relationship progresses.

“How exactly do you communicate something to another individual, and does it make sense in the context? When the relationship first began 50 years ago, you were not the same person that you are now. The person that you are today is not the same person that you were then. They are not the same individual in any way. “When you’re together, you’re not the same individuals,” Gere went on to explain.

In keeping with the line of thinking he had been developing, Gere brought up the notion that checking in with one another as a means of establishing whether or not one is still content in the relationship is an essential component.

“Therefore, there is a continual need to check in and determine whether or not “this works.” However, there are situations when it doesn’t… “He said that since “you’ve gone in various paths and alright, you’re in different locations,” there is no longer any purpose for the group to remain together.

After going through two previous divorces, it seemed as if Gere had at last found his “Pretty Woman” in Silva. According to a source close to Gere, 73, who spoke with People Magazine, the actor has been “much happier in this half of his life,” spending time with Silva while being established, confident, and doing whatever he loves to do. Gere was quoted as saying, “much happier in this half of his life.”

In 2018, a few months after Silva and Gere tied the knot, the couple welcomed a healthy and lovely son into the world. After waiting another nine months, the couple finally broke the news that they were expecting their second child.

In spite of the significant age gap between them, it is clear that the pair has been content during their time spent together, despite the fact that they began their relationship later in life.
