Diane Keaton is the queen of romantic comedies, but in her real life, love isn’t exactly a top priority for her.

An actress who is 77 years old was recently interviewed by Extra for the purpose of promoting her upcoming romantic comedy titled Maybe I Do. During this interview, the actress was asked about the length of time that has passed since the last time that she went on a date.

“Let’s [say] 15 years,” Keaton suggested as an estimate. “They most likely just thought, “Enough is enough… she’s too weird,” and that was that. I have my quirks, but other than that, I’m doing well.”

She continued by saying, with a lighthearted tone, “Someday, someone will marry me,” adding, “Maybe one of these nice men today that have to deal with me today.”

These comments come from Keaton more than three years after she stated in an interview with InStyle in July 2019 that she has “not been on a date in, I would say, 35 years.”

The Oscar winner gave the following response when asked if she wanted to be asked out: “I am surrounded by many male friends. I have a large number of friends, but I don’t have any dates. No mwah-mwah.”

In May of the previous year, Keaton had stated to PEOPLE that she had no desire to ever get married. When asked about her thoughts on marriage, she responded, “Today I was thinking about this.” “At the age of 73, I believe that I am the only woman in my generation and possibly the generation before mine who has spent her entire life as a single person.”

The star of Annie Hall, who has been romantically linked to the likes of Woody Allen, Warren Beatty, and Al Pacino, amongst others, does not seem to be bothered by the fact that she is currently without a significant other. “I think that I needed more of a maternal aspect,” she stated at the time.

Keaton is quoted as saying, “I don’t believe it would have been a good idea for me to have married, and I’m really glad I didn’t, and I’m sure they’re happy about it, too,” in reference to his decision not to tie the knot.

Instead, Keaton is spending her time honoring herself, most recently by celebrating her 77th birthday with a dash of the signature humor she has become known for.

Earlier this month, the actress from “Something’s Gotta Give” shared on Instagram a video compilation of various birthday cakes, ranging in shape, size, and flavor, along with a humorous affirmation of her own identity.

The Hollywood legend wrote, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE… ME!” alongside the slideshow of her birthday cake and wished herself a happy birthday.
