Steve Harvey is famous for having a personality that is bigger than life and for having a significant influence on the lives of a great number of his admirers. On January 17, 2023, he celebrated his 66th birthday, and he and his wife, Marjorie, continue to have a joyful and fulfilling life together.
They first got together when they were much younger and went through many tests and challenges together before becoming the powerful couple that they are today. Even their families have been effectively combined thanks to their efforts.
The marriage between Steve and Marjorie has already lasted for 15 years. On the occasion of the couple’s 15th wedding anniversary, Steve sent a letter of love to his beloved in which he expressed his appreciation for the fact that he has been able to share his life with her for as long as he has.
He admitted to her in the love letter that he felt as if he could finally begin a new chapter in his life when Marjorie came into it. Additionally, he raved:
“We gained the ability to adapt to changing circumstances as a result of our marriage. I also become better at listening to others. However, the most valuable thing you’ve shown me is that whatever may come our way, we will manage just fine.”
He went on to say that without her, he wouldn’t have whatever he did have and that he was certain that even if he lost his fame and money, his wife would be by his side. After that, he praised her for being the greatest thing in his life, remarked that she had provided him serenity, and expressed his gratitude for each and every day that they are able to spend together.
When asked about the impact that his wife has had on his life, Steve once claimed that he can’t even remember what his life was like before he met his wife. He said that up until the time he met his current wife, he didn’t give any thought to his previous relationships and didn’t have any happy recollections of any of them.
Even though Steve is now in a marriage that is strong and joyful, Steve has not always had the greatest success when it comes to finding romantic partners. In point of fact, after they divorced, he continued to have a troubled connection with his former spouse.
After Steve and his ex-wife, Mary Lee, finalized their divorce, she alleged that Steve had abandoned her and left her in a state of abject poverty. She said that she had been kicked out of her house and was now living on the streets as a result. However, the legal system determined that this was not true.
In the divorce settlement between the couple, Mary Lee was given the right to keep all three of the family residences, in addition to a sizeable monetary payout. She then said that her partner, Steve, had abducted their kid, Wynton, and taken him away from her.
Once again, this was shown to be untrue when it was discovered that Mary Lee had voluntarily sent the child to live with his father. Although Steve was Wynton’s main caretaker at the time, he did not keep the kid from his mother nor did he criticize his mother in front of Wynton.
When Steve’s marriage to Mary Lee ended, and he went through a tough period while the divorce process was going on, many people felt sorry for Steve. However, Steve had a different take on the situation. Once, he said that
“The breakup might be a gift in disguise at times.”
The presenter of the talk program said that while most people see the end of a relationship as a negative experience, in certain cases it is necessary for the relationship to end in order for something more satisfying to follow. The best thing that ever happened to Steve was when he started dating Marjorie.
After his troubled relationship with Mary Lee came to an end in 1987, Steve met the woman who would become his present wife at a standup comedy concert in Memphis, where he was performing at the time. Their first exchange of words was also atypical, as was their initial encounter with one another.
After Marjorie had already found her seat when she arrived late to the standup act, Steve made the decision to address her personally as she was making her way inside the venue. He spoke to her as if she were a complete stranger and said, “I don’t know who you are, but I’m going to marry you one day.”
Even though the couple’s relationship didn’t continue very long the first time around, the two of them got back together in 2005, and Steve was able to keep the promise he made to her the first night they met. During their courtship, which lasted from 2005 through 2006, Steve made his proposal. On June 25, 2007, they exchanged vows.
Following his marriage to Marjorie, Steve took custody of her children from prior marriages and raised them as his own. Marjorie came into the marriage with three children, all of whom looked up to Steve as a kind of surrogate father. He came to the conclusion that the best way to proceed was to formally adopt them.
