Britney Spears’ ex-fiancé and Hollywood agent Jason Trawick, who was also Britney’s co-conservator for a short period of time, is speaking out about their relationship for the first time in a very long time.
On the podcast hosted by Kevin Connelly, the publicist Trawick recounted his work in the entertainment industry. Among his clients were Taylor Swift, Paris Hilton, and Hilary Duff. The topic shifted to his becoming Britney’s manager since he had first become acquainted with her in 2006 via her brother, Bryan Spears. He represented her through some of the most difficult years of her life, beginning in 2008 when she was placed under conservatorship. The year after that, they began a romantic relationship, and after becoming engaged in 2011, they separated the following year. He discussed the contentious conservatorship, maintaining that the “Toxic” singer had a pressing need for it at the time, and said that her father, Jamie Spears, had genuine intentions – at least, based on what he had seen. In addition to the other admissions, he said that his relationship with Britney was real and addressed the idea that Jamie had paid him to act as a “spy.”
“Listen, did she need the services of a conservator while you were there? Yes. I’ll be the first one to put it out there, “Trawick, 50, added. “I believe that she may have benefited from some direction.” He said that the pop star’s finances needed to be managed by another individual since she and her ex-husband Kevin Federline “spent a lot of money” during the two years that they were married. Plus, “She would be an absolute nightmare to have on The Price Is Right. She is oblivious to the fact that things have prices, “he said, referring to the person of the same age who he had lost contact with. On the other hand, he said that she need the conservatorship for other reasons, such as “treatment” and “blocking her from seeing certain folks who were not wonderful influences.”
According to Trawick, Jamie “100 percent” intended good when he placed the stringent conservatorship in place; but, “until they can show he somehow stole money from her,” he believes the conservatorship should be removed. He said that Jamie had sacrificed a lot for the position. While asked if the conservatorship should have ended earlier than it did in 2021, after 13 years, he said that he wasn’t sure, but that when he was there in Britney’s life, she needed someone watching out for her so that other people wouldn’t take advantage of her.
Since the conservatorship has ended, he is relieved that she will finally have “the chance to show the world” that she is capable of handling things on her own. He said, “If she fails, then she fails,” but added, “But I want her to prove [her critics] incorrect.” He said that the well-known singer “has a great heart.”
Naturally, Britney fought to free herself from the conservatorship that created the “Free Britney” campaign, which was pushed by her devoted fans. She made the allegations in June 2021, when Jamie was in charge of the conservatorship. She said that she was compelled to use birth control against her will and that she was coerced into receiving mental treatment against her will. After that, for the first time in the previous 13 years, she was able to employ her own legal team, and Jamie was quickly removed from her position. In November of that year, the conservatorship in its entirety was terminated. The celebrity welcomed the removal of two of the numerous limitations that had been placed on her as a result of the conservatorship, including the inability to use her automobile and her first ATM card. For his part, Jamie, who served as conservator and received millions of dollars, has claimed that he has always operated in the best interest of his daughter, and he reaffirmed this attitude in an interview that took place in December.
During “all the chaos” that occurred previous to the conservatorship, according to Trawick, Britney was just divorced and had two young boys when he began representing her. During that time, he didn’t have a lot of interactions or conversations with her “because there was a guy in her life who I don’t even want to give the credit to say his name, and I’m speaking about Sam Lufti here. He took over… Because she was unable to receive my calls, I did not get a return call. Once some time, she managed to get through it, and after the rest of the family became engaged, I became [her] true agent.”
They became very good friends with one another ( “To put it simply, we were the best of friends. She put her faith in me. She had the sensation that she was very close to me”), and disclosed “when they went too far.” “from the business world to the amorous world. He said that they were in Las Vegas, and because she “hated being alone” in her hotel rooms, it was nothing out of the ordinary for him to remain on a sofa with her there. He claimed this happened very often. One evening, she beckoned him to join her in her bedroom. He recalls the next morning when the nanny came to her employer’s house to care for her two boys, Preston and Jayden. He advised them to keep the nanny in the dark about what had transpired, and he believed that they had decided upon their narrative. When the nanny entered the room, however, Britney “simply goes by butt naked into the kitchen,” which blew any cover story out of the water. “From that moment on, we were a couple to be reckoned with.”
He described the moment as “surreal” and stated that it was during that time that he “became a real celebrity.” “People were talking about me,” which was “not a great look” for his job, in which he was meant to be a background fixture. “A fantastic look” for his career would have been “a terrific look.” In the end, he decided to put his career on hold for her because “I certainly was in love,” and he accompanied her on two global tours as a result of their relationship.
Even after the end of the period of conservatism, the media never stopped focusing on Britney Spears. He described how they went to Mel Gibson’s holiday house in Costa Rica so that the famous singer could get away from the public eye and enjoy some peace and quiet away from the glare of the limelight. Gibson said that it was paparazzi-proof because of the fact that in order to reach the property, which they flew straight to, the paparazzi would have to drive through eight hours of the rainforest. When they got up the next morning, the paparazzi were already outside waiting for them.
He said that he was not the conventional kind of person who should be on the cover of a tabloid. Once, he decided to remain submerged in the water with a float around him in order to prevent the paparazzi from taking photographs of his physique. These photographs caused the scale to go up and down, and mean bloggers of the time period capitalized on them.
A few years later, after he had gotten into incredible form, she used him as the love interest in the music video for her song “Criminal.” He recalls wearing a skintight leather motorbike suit to shoot the sequence, claiming that “she had me audition” for the part.
Trawick described how he was followed to work by photographers, who boxed him in four vehicles deep in an attempt to determine whether or not his celebrity girlfriend was in his vehicle, which came perilously close to causing an accident. He described it as “horrible” in his words. Whenever they went to Target together, there would always be “three behind her, three in front of her” traveling up and down each and every aisle of the store. “No matter where we went, there was always someone keeping an eye on us.” He said that the paparazzi would attempt to provoke him for film by telling him things like, “You’re Britney’s side chick out shopping,” someone remarked to you… Simply awaiting my response at this point.” He said that he had only done so once or twice, one of which being an altercation with a paparazzo outside of a Red Robin in Calabasas, which resulted in a headline reading “violent Jason Trawick snaps.”
He said that the long-standing allegation, which was propagated by Britney’s first husband Jason Alexander, that Jamie employed him as a “spy” and “forced me to like” Britney is not accurate. The story was started by Jamie. ” I was really terminated by her father “as her agent after the beginning of their relationship. “He told me one or the other,” agent or lover, he claimed. “He didn’t tell me both.” “The company fired me.”
When Trawick and Britney were engaged, he temporarily assumed the role of co-conservator of Britney’s person rather than her money; this gave them the freedom to travel more without the need for permission. He disclosed the fact that at the time they were considering relocating to Louisiana in order to have a more peaceful existence and to bring up her sons there. He said that Britney, and not Jamie, was the one who encouraged him to accept the position of a conservator.
“She wanted me to be conservator,” he added, adding that they had gone to Jamie, who had agreed and done the work to acquire the permission. “She requested me to be conservator,” he continued. Despite this, Jamie was still going to be present at all times. “Jamie and I were going to do it,” was the original plan. He said that playing the character “had a toll” on his relationship with Britney and that it marked the beginning of the end of their time together.
Concerning the end of their relationship, he noted, “It was not a simple task. It wasn’t one of those breakups where you continued to see one another after the relationship ended. It was the last one. It ended up being a breakup. The children posed the greatest challenge. I had known them since when Preston was born, which was also when Jayden was just about a baby. That was a really challenging situation for me since I couldn’t see them… When I departed, they were 7 and 8 years old.”
He said that he had just spoken with the lads, who are now 17 and 16, over FaceTime. He explained it by saying that he wanted to hear their “deep” voices. “I’ve reached the point in my life where I’ve determined that I won’t have children, but I’ve always treated the situation as if I already had children… Although everyone told me, “Well, they’re not your own,” I dealt with them as if they were my very own children. Undoubtedly, these belong to Kevin. Kevin is a wonderful parent. They were available to us fifty percent of the time. I had the impression that I did bring them up in a certain manner. They were similar to my own children. That was the most difficult component. However, by the time it came down to her and me, it was just… a lot of arguing. In front of the children, that wasn’t fair.”
Trawick, who resides in Las Vegas and is now single, sent his best wishes to his ex-girlfriend on the occasion of her third wedding to Sam Asghari.
He made the statement, “I don’t know too much about her new spouse.” “I am overjoyed for them in light of the fact that they have tied the knot. I have high hopes that he would not only be a solid support group but will also provide for her and provide her what she needs.”
Since the conservatorship was lifted, Britney has voiced her disapproval in public against her father and the rest of her family for having her remain subject to the legal arrangement for such a significant amount of time. She utilizes social media on a regular basis to voice her opposition to them, but she is now working on a book to recount her tale in her own words.
