Blake Lively, age 35, and Ryan Reynolds, age 46, are not only two of the most well-known actors in Hollywood but also a highly successful marriage. And this was only verified this past Thursday, November 17, when Lively was requested to present her husband with a renowned award, and she took the opportunity to laud him as a partner and a father. In addition, this was the first time that Lively had been invited to do so.
Reynolds was recently selected as the person receiving the American Cinematheque Award, which is a prize that, according to the site organization, “is presented annually to an extraordinary artist currently making a significant contribution to the art of the Moving Picture.” Reynolds is the 36th person to receive this award. At the event, Lively was one of the stars who was asked to speak, and she opted to compliment her husband on his achievement.
The actress from Gossip Girl began by mentioning that Ryan Reynolds has always had a great connection to his home and that throughout his early years as an actor, he used to spend his weekends driving home to Canada from Los Angeles.
“Now I am his house, and his children are his home, and just like that 19-year-old lad, he races home, whether it’s from across the globe or a meeting across the street; he is hardwired to go home,” Lively said. “Now that I am his home, and his girls are his home,” Lively said.
She joked and said, “If he came home from the set, not in his clothing, we would be quite concerned—soaked in dirt, fake blood, real blood, prosthetic scars, superhero suits, tap shoes, or clown makeup, daddy always returns home.”
After meeting for the first time on the set of Green Lantern in 2010, Lively and Reynolds eventually decided to get married in 2012. Since that time, the couple has become parents to three little ones, all of whom are girls: James, 7, Inez, 6, and Betty, 3, and they are expecting their fourth child any day now.
Despite Reynolds’s hectic work schedule, Lively praised the way he manages to strike a healthy balance between his professional and personal responsibilities.
