The announcement that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would stand down from their positions as senior royals in the early part of 2020 stunned the whole globe. Since that time, the family has uprooted and moved to the United States, where they now make their home with their two children, a boy named Archie and a girl named Lilibet. They would continue to use their HRH titles, but since they would no longer be performing royal responsibilities as representatives of the queen, they would no longer be eligible for financial assistance from the palace. Their pointed criticism of the cultural traditions of the royal family was greeted with considerable condemnation from people all across the globe, but the couple also received a great deal of support.
Since relocating to Montecito in Santa Barbara County, California, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been keeping themselves quite busy with their family and professional lives, although they have managed to attend a few royal engagements in London. The first episode of Meghan’s podcast, titled “Archetype,” was released on Spotify on August 23, 2022.
The podcast that “dives into the labels that aim to keep women back” is hosted by Meghan. The duchess will conduct interviews with well-known figures in each episode in order to explore “the roots of phrases such as ‘diva,”slut,’ ‘the B word,’ and ‘hysterical,'” and “learn how these archetypes affect our daily lives in ways great and little… This raises the question, “Is there anything that can be done about this?”
During the pilot, Meghan said that “These are phrases you hear a lot. In the press, on the internet, and in the homes of individuals. They are used in an unconcerned manner. And most of the time, they are geared at women.” She continued by saying, “Now is the moment to be heard over the din. The origins of these terms are going to be discussed in more detail. And try to comprehend the reason why they continue.”
Meghan sat down with actress Pamela Adlon, comedienne Sam Jay, and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, for the fourth edition of her podcast. During her conversation with Adlon on the podcast, Meghan brought up how hectic her life can get now that she has two small children. Following Adlon’s confession that she sometimes has the feeling that she doesn’t belong in the role of mother, Meghan confessed that her morning ritual is a “whirlwind.”
“So, the morning rush, I’m sure it will only grow more hectic as kids get older, but for me, it’s…………… You should know that both monitors are on so that Lili can talk to the children and they can hear them. Get her downstairs. Then, a quarter of an hour after that, Archie got up. While I am helping her get a little something to chew on, you may get started on his lunchbox just before he wakes up. My son is assisting me in getting him downstairs, and in the meanwhile, my husband and I are preparing breakfast for all three of them. For me, this is of the utmost significance. “I just like doing it,” she said, before going on to mention that the family had recently welcomed some new members.
“From my perspective, this is the most enjoyable way to kick off the morning. “And then it’s like, feed all three of the dogs because we just bought another puppy and then get Archie out the door to school and, you know, but it does, it feels like a whirlwind,” Meghan continued. “But it does, it feels like a whirlwind.”
Meghan also discussed the progress that both her daughter Lili, who was born on June 4, 2021, and her son Archie, who was born two years before on May 6, 2019, had made. Lili was born two years after Meghan, while Archie was born two years before.
“Lili has just recently begun to walk. Archie is little over three years old, while she is a year and a couple of months old, she claimed, adding, “So sure, they are… Oh, I’m right in the middle of it all. Toddling.”
Additionally, Meghan shared with Harry how appreciative she is to have him by her side.
“Oh, my spouse. What a wonderful man. To put up with all of this as a single parent, you have my utmost respect. How someone can go through this without having someone to assist them through it is beyond me. It is such a lot of effort to be a mother when you are simply trying to be a conscious parent in order to bring up nice, kind human beings, and to do it on your own is the most astounding and admirable thing that could ever exist, Meghan added.
In the past, Harry has made it clear how much he appreciates his role as a father. He told People in April 2022 that he was a “proud father” and that he appreciated being there to see all of the significant moments in the lives of his children.
“(Lili’s) current priorities are trying to keep up with her brother; she took her first step just a few days ago!” he said to the outlet, adding that he was eager to share his own passions with little Archie. “(Lili’s) current priorities are trying to keep up with her brother; she took her first step just a few days ago!”
“Archie was completely enthralled when I played him a video of wheelchair basketball and rugby from the Invictus Games in Sydney. … I illustrated for him how some were missing legs and explained that others had injuries that were not obvious to the naked eye. Not because he inquired about it, but because I felt compelled to share it with him. “Children comprehend so much, and to experience everything through his eyes was great because it’s so unvarnished and honest,” Harry remarked. “Kids view the world in a way that adults don’t.”
He continued by saying that the most significant shift in his life occurred when he became a parent.
Being a father unquestionably adds a further psychological element… “When I was in the Army, I made a pact with myself that I would get out before getting married or having children because I couldn’t fathom the pain of being separated from my family for such a long period of time during deployments. I also couldn’t fathom the reality that my family’s lives could be altered in an instant if I were to become injured in the line of duty,” he explained.
