Due to her ex-boyfriend Elon Musk’s takeover of the social media platform, Amber Heard is no longer active on Twitter.

Multiple news agencies reported on Thursday that Amber Heard’s Twitter account, which goes by the handle @realamberheard, had been disabled. The exact time of this change is not known. A screen that says “This account does not exist” has now shown on the website.

Heard, who is 36 years old, continues to use Instagram, where she has 5.3 million followers and most recently posted a statement she released on June 1 after the judgement in the defamation lawsuit she was involved in with her ex-husband Johnny Depp in Virginia.

PEOPLE reached out to a representative for Heard for comment, but they did not answer.

Musk, who dated Heard in the past following her divorce from Depp, just purchased Twitter and assumed the role of CEO of the company. The billionaire released a public statement to advertisers just before the deal was approved, assuring them that he did not want the platform to “become a free-for-all hellscape, where anything may be spoken with no repercussions!”

In the past, a representative for Musk, 51, has said that he and Heard, who had ended their relationship by August 2017, “not until May of 2016 did they start seeing one other, and even then it was only on an irregular basis. Their friendship developed into something more amorous after some time had passed.”

Heard gave an interview to The Hollywood Reporter in December 2018, more than a year after the separation “Elon and I had a wonderful relationship, and we continue to have a wonderful friendship to this day. This friendship was founded on the ideals that we hold most dear. Curiosity of the mind, enthusiasm for ideas and discussion, and a love of science shared by everyone Just now, we connected over a number of issues that are directly relevant to the core of who I am. I have a tremendous amount of respect for him.”

Christian Carino, a talent agency who at one time represented both Heard and Depp, released text messages he had with Heard concerning her connection with Elon Musk during the trial that took place in Virginia earlier this year. The trial was held in Virginia. When Carino and Heard were having a conversation about Musk’s split from Heard in August of 2017, Carino remembered asking Heard why she was “sad” given that she had never been “in love with him to begin with.” An attorney for Depp was given access to a text conversation between Carino and Heard, in which Heard stated that following her breakup with Depp, she was “simply filling space” with Musk.

Hearing the letter, Carino said: “I despise the fact that another guy has allowed me to navigate the spikes all by myself… In other words, they are upset with me because I abandoned them and placed information like this online.” Then Carino’s response was, “If you would just quit dating really famous individuals, you could avoid all of this trouble. It is possible for you to be with a powerful guy who is not well known.”

The judgement was handed down in the trial on June 1, with a seven-person jury agreeing primarily with Depp, 59, and ruling that Heard defamed him in her 2018 op-ed about domestic violence, even though she didn’t mention him by name in the piece. The jury found that Depp was the victim of defamation. More than ten million dollars in damages were given to him, but Heard won one of her three defamation counterclaims and was granted two million dollars in damages for her victory. Both of them have decided to challenge the judgments at this time.

Musk gave his opinion on the ongoing court proceedings, which were being broadcast live, a few days before the judgement was handed down. During that time, he tweeted, “I really hope that both of them can move on. When they are at their very best, each of them is great.”
