The guy, who was 54 years old at the time, walked the stage at America’s Got Talent with the self-assurance of a veteran performer. But as soon as everyone found out, the man’s life had just not too long before seemed to be extremely different from what it was like now.

Even though the guy had no house to call his own, he never lost his love of music or his talent for playing it, even if he didn’t have a place to lay his head at night. It was the one thing in his life that he was certain he could depend on at all times, and in the end, it was what assisted him in bettering his own life.

The participant on America’s Got Talent gave an outstanding performance of the well-known song “With a Little Help from My Friends,” which left the audience wishing for more of his work. This performance was the culmination of a labor of love for him. And, after everything is said and done, isn’t it ultimately what determines whether or not an artist is really great?
