When it comes to a beauty reveal, the best place to be is on the front row during Fashion Week. Attendees and spectators are geared up for anything new, holding their breath and getting ready to be impressed. At the beginning of this week, Top Gun: Maverick actor Jennifer Connelly made an appearance at the Louis Vuitton spring 2023 show at the Cour Carrée in Paris. There, she debuted a freshly shortened bob that is sure to serve as an inspiration for a trend in the next autumn season.
We can only speculate, but it seems like Connelly’s preternaturally lustrous raven lengths have been replaced with a coif that was trimmed by hairdresser John Nollet in order to frame her jawline. Instead of parting it in the middle and letting it flow about her face, he gave her a layered cut and scraped it back, creating a deep side part that provided added lift and texture to the look. The rounded cut seemed to be in tune with her Louis Vuitton outfit, which achieved Nicolas Ghesquière’s note of “pretty tough” by combining graphic flowers, a combination of fluidity and rigidity, and a play of proportions.
