This was the sacrifice that had to be made by a Ukrainian mother named Yulia Pisetskaya when she put her son Hassan on a train that was leaving Zaporizhzhia, which was a city that had been attacked.

The mother of the kid who was 11 years old was trying all in her power to save at least one of her children from the impending danger.

However, she was unable to accompany Hassan since she was sick and needed to take care of her mother, who has a disability. Despite the mental anguish it caused her, Yulia was forced to abandon Hassan because she had no other option.

The young guy bravely boarded the train as his mother stood nearby and took with him little more than a tiny bag, a passport, and a phone number that was written on his palm.

Hassan was able to make it to Slovakia without any problems, and the authorities who work at the border took care of him as soon as he arrived.

After traveling on his own from the southern region of Ukraine, which is around 900 kilometers away, the authorities referred to him as a “hero.” On the back of his hand were written the names and phone numbers of his relatives who lived in Bratislava.

They were able to be discovered by the authorities, and ever since then, Hassan has been under the protection of those authorities. Yulia took to Facebook to convey her appreciation to the people of Slovakia for ensuring the safety of her newborn child throughout the ordeal.

Yulia said that she is a formerly married woman who is the mother of a significant number of children. She was thankful to the Slovak customs authorities as well as the volunteers who supported Hassan in crossing the border, and she communicated her thanks to both groups.

The Slovakian ministry of the interior shared Hassan’s story on Facebook with the accompanying remark that he “captured everybody’s hearts with his smile, fearlessness, and determination, worthy of a true hero.”

“Thanks to the number on his hand and a piece of paper in his waist, he was able to contact his loved ones, who came for him later, and the whole story finished nicely,” the authorities said.
