Nearly sixty years into their marriage, Sir Tom Jones and Melinda Trenchard continued to enjoy each other’s company as husband and wife. However, Trenchard passed away shortly after the couple celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary before his passing. After that, Jones decided to sell their house, but he continues to show love and respect for his late wife whenever possible.
Jones and Trenchard have known one other since they were little. They were just twelve years old when they first met, and by the time they were married in March 1957, they were already in love. Mark, their only child, was born exactly one month after the couple tied the knot.

Jones was left in utter devastation by the passing of his childhood lover in the early months of 2016, despite the fact that the couple had been through some challenging periods throughout their marriage. He added that it was a song that served as a reminder to one to keep their composure in order to be there for their loved ones in times when they need it the most. In addition to that, he said that it was a song that brought to mind something that his wife had said to him when she was undergoing treatment for lung cancer. He explained:
“She advised me, “Don’t fall with me, don’t fall now; you’ve done all you can; you must continue doing what you do.” She warned me not to give in to despair along with her. Consequently, I used the song, and when I first heard it, it seemed as if it had been written just for my circumstance. It’s really a beautiful tune.'”
After that, he started performing his song “I Won’t Crumble If You Fall,” which brought tears to the eyes of his other fellow mentors and provoked deep emotions from members of the crowd. One of the people in the crowd made the observation that it seemed as if he was singing directly to Trenchard.
One of his other mentors, Anne Marie, called it “one of the finest times of [her] life,” and she agreed with him. The poignant performance given by the 82-year-old singer brought several members of the crowd to tears, and afterwards, they expressed their reactions to it on Twitter.

Jones is of Welsh descent, but following Trenchard’s passing he purchased a home for himself in London. He acknowledged that they had been considering moving in together, but as Trenchard’s health deteriorated, they realized that they had waited too long to make the move and that it was too late.
When Jones realized that Trenchard was not going to make it back to the UK, he spoke to her about it, and she informed him that even if it was too late for her, it was not too late for him. Mark is the only child that Jones and Trenchard have produced. Jones does, however, have another kid as a result of his extramarital encounters that took place while he was married to Trenchard. Jonathan Berkery is the name of Jones’s second son who is an adult.
Jones and model Katherine Berkery were romantically involved at the time, which led to the birth of their son Jonathan.
