Shangela, a contestant on Rupaul’s Drag Race, and Gleb Savchenko, a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars, are very enthusiastic about the impact that their historic cooperation during season 31 will have not only on their respective shows but also on the globe.
Shangela, a drag performer who was born D.J. Pierce and is now 40 years old, and Derek Hough, a ballroom dancer who is 38 years old, spoke out on Thursday about becoming the first all-male pair to ever compete on Dancing With the Stars and Shangela’s status as the first drag performer ever after 30 seasons of DWTS.
After the cast was revealed on Good Morning America, Savchenko appeared on the program and said, “We’re changing the world, and I love it.” “It’s all about loving energy, and it’s all about love, and we’re just going to have a lot of fun together while learning how to tango and all the steps of ballroom dancing.”
Savchenko remarked that he had never danced with a drag queen before, and then he teased the audience by stealing a popular line from Shangela and said, “We’re going to halleloo!” Savchenko said that.
‘I’m the first person to ever be able to compete in drag on Dancing with the Stars in the history of the show here, so I hope that we show people that it’s all about the heart and soul of who you are as a person,’ he explained. “I hope that we show people that it’s all about the heart and soul of who you are as a person.” “It makes no difference whether there are two guys dancing together, if it is just one man dancing together, or if it is a drag performer like myself dancing together. It’s not only about being able to dance well or having fun; it’s also about making connections with other people and expanding your understanding of their lives.”
He went on to say, “Even though I’m not a professional dancer by any stretch of the imagination, I’m not frightened to be in this place because I’m prepared to learn. I can’t wait to pick Gleb’s brain, and I also hope that I’ll have something useful to share with him in return.”
Savchenko also discussed his feelings over being teamed up with the drag queen who is also a co-host on We’re Here. “I was like, ‘Sign me in. I’m going to make this the finest life I’ve ever had.”
Shangela, who competed in the third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars and made it to the final four, could not be more happy. He explained it by saying, “My jaw was practically on the floor.” “To be on Dancing with the Stars and to have grown up enjoying dance and to now have this incredible platform on which to compete and achieve something, I feel like I’m living my best life, just like Gleb,” she said.
Concerning the competitive nature of the program, Shangela does not seem to have a lot of anxiety. “Today was the first day that we really got to see everyone, so I was looking around like this, although I can’t see much through these lashes,” he added. “I was gazing around like this since today was the first day that we actually got to see everyone.”
“I know it may sound cliche, but I really feel like I and we really are our biggest competitors because we’ve got to overcome any thoughts of not being able to deliver and just go out there and have fun,” he added. “I know it may sound cliche, but I really feel like I and we really are our biggest competitors because we’ve got to overcome any thoughts of not being able “In all honesty, it is the path we want to go. Have a good time, but don’t forget to get some work done while you’re at it.”
As the only participant in the history of RuPaul’s Drag Race to take part in all three seasons of the competition, he has a wealth of experience to draw upon and can provide sound guidance as a result. Shangela believes that she is ready for the ballroom after spending so much time in front of the camera.
He stated, “I get caught up in the moment, and I believe that’s also what this program is all about.” “I get caught up in the moment.” “I did not come here to announce that we are going to be shown on television. Because of the emphasis placed on performance, I really enjoy watching this particular show. It is about displaying skill, performance, and energy on stage, and when you’re truly doing it and when you’re really in the moment, you don’t even think about cameras and being on TV. This is because it is about showcasing talent, performance, and energy on stage.”
The drag superstar continued by saying, “I believe that’s how I’ve been able to connect with so many people across the globe in a real manner, and that’s because when Shangela comes up, I show up as myself, and you get me with no cameras the same way that you get me with cameras, so here I come.”
