In a city in Georgia, there lives a dog that has earned the respect and admiration of the city’s pedestrians. Dogs are regarded as our most faithful friends, which is one of the reasons why they have earned the well-deserved label of man’s best friend.
These extraordinary creatures serve as stress relievers for us; they make us laugh with their antics, but they are also prepared to defend us if it is necessary for them to do so. In point of fact, there is no other animal that can love people quite like a dog.
This dog in Georgia is much like any other, with the exception that he has a very specific job in his community: he watches out for pedestrians at the crosswalk.
Kupata, a stray dog that lives in the area, has taken it upon himself to act as a personal guide for people as they cross this busy street in Batumi, Georgia.
Beqa Tsinadze saw Kupata doing his duties one morning. At the video, you can see a group of kindergarteners being led by two adults as they wait in the crosswalk that has been cordoned off for them.
The dog of the crossing guard ensures that it is safe for pedestrians to cross the roadway.
They were waiting for automobiles to give way so that they could cross the street in safety, but none of the drivers were gracious enough to allow them pass through the intersection.
They waited and waited beside their escort, but it seemed that none of the passing automobiles were paying any attention to them at all.
The dog Kupata was not the kind to sit around and wait. He sprang directly into action and began angrily barking at the cars who were approaching from the other direction; it was almost as if he was reprimanding them for their lack of proper road etiquette!
The dog behaved quite well considering the circumstances. As soon as he started barking at the automobiles, they came to a halt and made way for the crowd of people.
After everyone had crossed the street, Kupata moved to the head of the line and escorted them to the other side of the road. He did not stop there. What a considerate little dog!
It turns out that this wasn’t a one-off occurrence after all. Another video showing Kupata directing traffic and leading a group of kindergarten students across the street was uploaded by Beqa.
When the children were ready to cross the street, Kupata gave pursuit to a black automobile that was speeding into the pedestrian lane and barked fiercely at it.
After that, he immediately turned around and repositioned himself in front of the kids so that he could watch them carefully as they crossed the street to the other side of the street.
When an angry motorist in a white van honked at the children as they crossed the street, Kupata immediately started barking at the man.
It is unknown how the puppy got to be the crossing guard for this neighborhood and a hero to many passersby; nonetheless, it is likely that this was his way of expressing thanks to the people who live there.
According to Georgian media, Kupata found his way there as a stray a few years ago, and since then, people of the town have taken it upon themselves to care for him.
According to the article, the residents of the area call the dog by a few different names, but it should go without saying that it is quite appropriate to refer to him as a “good boy.”
