Children and animals often create bonds that are stronger than any other. Therefore, when one of our beloved pets passes away, it is our children who are the most deeply affected.

One family, on the other hand, will always be able to not only remember the wonderful days they had with their cat that has since gone away, but also look through the collection of photographs that serve as a record of the amusing and unforgettable times they spent together.

Bailey was a really remarkable cat that was a vital member of the family. She was always treated with utmost respect. Even though Erin Merryn and the rest of the Merryn household members involved him in everything they did, the last event was the one that resonated most deeply with people.

Merryn thinks back to the day when Bailey came into her life. Even though she had just started college, she instantly became best friends with this cat the minute she held him in her arms. “I have always thought that if everyone had a Bailey, there would be a lot less people in this world who are lonely or miserable. It would make a huge difference.” I have always told folks that within Bailey there is a little bit of a human.

Bailey was present to participate in the excitement and happiness that Merryn felt with the birth of her first child, a daughter named Abby.

Merryn explained to Love Meow how the cat and the infant developed an immediate connection to one another. She had some trepidation at first since she wasn’t sure how Bailey would respond to the new member of the family, but he turned out to be the most loving pet that they could have asked for in the world.

The two sisters always brought their stuffed animal brother with them wherever they went. They dressed him up, went on picnics with him, and carried him about in a stroller like he was a baby. The fact that people began to refer to him as “no ordinary cat” thus did not come as much of a surprise to anybody.

“He was so smitten with these ladies that he didn’t care what they did to him since he loved them so much. Merryn shared with People how fantastic the experience was.

Unfortunately, after 14 years, Bailey’s health began to deteriorate, and he ultimately passed away from renal failure. The whole of his family was inconsolable, and they did all in their power to ensure that his last days were filled with the same love and compassion that had characterized his entire existence.

Merryn shared with her friends how devastated they were to learn that their dear friend would soon be leaving this world, but that there was nothing anybody could do to change the outcome.

The last video of Bailey and Abby was so moving that it evoked profound feelings and caused a lot of people to cry when they saw the pure love that existed between these best friends.

As Abby cradles Bailey in her arms and softly sings, “You are my Sunshine,” Bailey can be heard smiling.

Merryn continues to maintain the Facebook page “Bailey No Ordinary Cat,” so even after Bailey has passed away, people will be able to see images of him and read about all the adventures he had while he was growing old with his family.

After learning that individuals from different parts of the globe were taken by the photographs, the family decided to create a book of them.
