Michael Buble is a talented musician who can hold his own. In addition to having one of the best-selling Christmas records of all time, he also has millions of devoted followers across the world and all of the professional success that he could possibly want. Although he was a household name and had amassed much wealth, there was still one item on his bucket list that he wanted to complete: singing alongside Barbra Streisand.

Fortunately, he was given the opportunity to cross this item off his list when Barbra requested that he perform “It Had To Be You” with her. Michael leaped at the chance, and the performance that followed was all a superfan could have hoped for and more…

Before jumping into their duet, Michael attempted to break the ice by cracking a joke with his partner. He and Barbra had never met before, and this was a fantastic way to get to know one other. Michael sneaked up on Barbra and made a lighthearted joke about it, saying:

“This is the cheapest recording session I’ve ever had… since you’re paying for it!” says the musician.

This was also his technique of releasing stress that he was experiencing. He confessed in the camera team, telling them that Barbra had been one of his musical inspirations as a youngster, and he didn’t want to ruin things up now by messing up the performance.

“It was an incredible pleasure to be invited to participate.” And the organization in which I’m now employed is great to be associated with. “I simply wanted to show there and make sure I didn’t disappoint her.”

Fortunately, Barbra was able to pick up on Michael’s nervousness and quickly began working to put him at ease. She wanted to include his big band flair into the song, so that he would feel right at home within seconds of hearing it. Barbra expressed herself as follows:

“Michael is a big band vocalist in the traditional sense. So I came up with the idea of starting with a ballad and then having the big band take over… You can tell by his demeanor, his tone of speech, his feeling of independence, and his sense of self. “We have the ability to experiment with the sound.”

With the orchestra blaring in the background, the duo went into their sound booths and began experimenting with the tune. She informed the camera team that live music was vital for generating high-quality music and that she wouldn’t record a song if she didn’t have access to it.

“This is how I’ve always recorded in the past. Since the release of my first album. I’ve done some recording with an orchestra. It’s very enjoyable! I feel inspired by what the orchestra is performing, and it prompts me to try additional things that I hadn’t considered until that point, such as singing with the symphony.”

The final version of “It Had To Be You” is so beautiful that we can see why she needs an orchestra and brilliant musical colleagues like Michael.”This is how I’ve always recorded in the past.
