What started out as a terrible story ended up being an amazing reunion between a lost dog and the lady who never stopped looking for him. Two years and many hours of work have culminated in the reunion of the two, and the reunion was nothing short of lovely!
Kameroun Mares and her pet puppy initially met in 2013, and they have been together ever since. Even though the gorgeous Husky was only a puppy at the time, it was more important than ever that Kameroun have a friend since she was suffering from an aggressive type of cancer.
Semper Fidelis is the Latin phrase that she gave to her cute furry pet, which translates as ‘Always loyal.’ And Semper was a devoted husband to the lady who loved him beyond everything else in the world, no matter what.
In 2016, though, something dreadful occurred that changed everything. Semper was left in the care of her roommate when Kameroun traveled to California to finish her treatment. However, she received a phone call that sent her to tears soon after she returned. Her beloved Husky had vanished without a trace!
Kameroun had been devastated, and he had anxiously attempted to locate Semper. She put up flyers and announcements all around town, even on the internet, but her dog appeared to have gone without a sign. Fortunately, the lady never lost hope, and even after Semper was missing for a year, she never stopped looking for him and never gave up hope. She even hired a private investigator, Ana Campos for aid. It was at this point that she discovered something exceedingly weird.
“I kept searching for him for a year while living in California, placing posters on pet websites, phoning 15 vet offices in the area where I used to reside over there about him, calling humane organizations about him, and looking for a shelter,” Kameroun told THE DODO in an interview. “When I contacted Ana Campos for more assistance, she advised that I examine her AKC Reunite chip once again.
Consequently, in May 2017, she went to the humane society, where they checked online… After a year had passed, she realized that a lady had put her name to Semper’s chip, which had been done on April 11, 2016.”
It came out that the business that microchipped Semper for the second time did not check to see whether he previously had a chip or if he had a prior owner. Semper was quickly posted for sale on Craigslist for $200 a short time thereafter. That explains why Semper had failed to appear.
But at long last, after about two and a half years and many tears, Kameroun and Semper were set to meet up for the first time in an extremely emotional reunion. “Being able to contribute to this reunion and just being there was one of the most memorable days of my life,” says the author. According to Kameroun, “I consider him as an extension of myself and my heart.” “I’m relieved to have him back in my arms again!”
It found out that Semper had been taken and later sold by Kameroun’s former roommate. His owner, Ana Campos, claims he was captured and sold by her roommate two and a half years ago. “On April 30, 2016, she was informed that he had gone missing.” However, on April 11, 2016, the buyer changed the name on his AKC Reunite’registered chip’ to reflect their relationship with the dog. Instead, they used this registered chip to register their Petkey pets. Petkey pets did not care to check to see whether he had previously been chipped.
