Iran is pledging a vigorous retaliation after United States attacks on three of its nuclear facilities over the weekend—an action authorized by President Donald Trump that has provoked immediate condemnation from Tehran.

On Saturday night, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi delivered a severe warning, denouncing the attacks as a blatant violation of international standards and asserting that the consequences will be enduring.

Araghchi said on X that the United States, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, has perpetrated a serious breach of the UN Charter, international law, and the NPT by assaulting Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.

Araghchi said on X that the United States, as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, has perpetrated a serious breach of the UN Charter, international law, and the NPT by assaulting Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.

He described the strike as “outrageous,” alleging that the U.S. jeopardized global security and established a dangerous precedent.

“These actions will yield enduring consequences,” he said. “All UN member states should be concerned by this reckless and unlawful conduct.”

Araghchi explicitly said that Iran is ready to take action, referencing the self-defense clauses of the UN Charter and emphasizing that the nation retains all tools to safeguard its people and sovereignty.
