“Although you may have presumed my sexual orientation, it is disheartening that I was unable to disclose it on my own terms,” the 15-year-old said, noting that he “ugly-cried.”
Kailyn Lowry’s oldest son Elliott, formerly referred to as Isaac, is discussing how his sexuality was “leaked” online prior to his ability to confront it publicly.
In Friday’s episode of Kailyn’s Barely Famous podcast, the 15-year-old publicly declared his name change from Issac to Elliott, which is his middle name.
Although the podcast episode had been meticulously scheduled in advance, the adolescent’s intention to disclose his identity on his own terms was disrupted when images of him with another kid at prom became popular online. The photographs were uploaded to an individual’s own Facebook page, rather than to his or his mother’s accounts, and thereafter disseminated among fan accounts for the program. The photographs also incited conjecture over Elliott’s sexuality.

Elliott said that the matter concerns not just himself but also his prom date.
“In truth, it no longer pertains solely to my interests.” The focus is on the individuals shown in those photographs. “It’s concerning their safety,” he said, to which Kailyn remarked that “perhaps they were not yet out,” further indicating that the leak placed the adolescents in a “highly perilous situation.”
“To satisfy your immediate desires, you disseminated images of minors to assert that you were the first to possess or disclose the information,” she continued.
Elliott observed that the issue lies in the fact that individuals fail to comprehend that if he does not disseminate information, it ought not to be publicly available.
Kailyn expressed her inclination to provide “the benefit of the doubt” to others; nonetheless, she has come to realize that some individuals within her immediate circle may, regrettably, wish for her failure.
Kailyn’s co-host emphasized that the podcast episode was scheduled prior to the leak and expressed her satisfaction that Elliott still wanted to tell his narrative.
Kailyn said that after the photographs circulated online, Elliott contacted her expressing a desire to publicly disclose their relationship on social media; however, she declined, citing feelings of “nervousness.” She said that she also considered it would have been “exploitative” since individuals may have profited from it.
“If you intend to share your narrative, you must articulate it in your own words,” she said, noting that she is not monetizing the podcast, and the proceeds are sent to her kid. “You ought to derive benefits from your narrative.”
Elliott reiterated the significance of coming out on his own terms, while also expressing his desire for his narrative to “inspire” others facing similar circumstances to navigate their challenges effectively.
“I can create a video that lasts an hour or possibly longer, rather than limiting it to one minute,” he continued.
Kailyn has a son, Lincoln, aged 11, with ex-partner Javi Marroquin; boys Lux, aged 7, and Creed, aged 4, with ex Chris Lopez; and son Rio, aged 2, along with twins Verse and Valley, born in late 2023, with fiancé Elijah Scott.
