Reports indicate that Mike “The Bodysnatcher” McCallum, a former professional boxer, has passed away. This information comes from numerous sources.

The Jamaica Observer reports that the Jamaican athlete died unexpectedly on Saturday when he was on his way to the gym in Las Vegas. He was a member of the Jamaican Olympic Committee. The news organization says that he became unwell and pulled over to the side of the road, where he was finally discovered by the police along with his body.

It has not been determined what caused his death; however, we have contacted the Las Vegas Police Department in an effort to get further information.

Over the course of his almost twenty-year career, McCallum earned an astounding record of 49-5, meaning that he won 36 of his fights by knockout.

During the course of his career, he won three championships: the super welterweight belt of the World Boxing Association, the middleweight belt, and the light heavyweight belt. He held all three belts at separate times in time.

Over the course of his career, Mike faced up against a number of formidable adversaries, some of which were Sean Mannion, Julian Jackson, Roy Jones Jr., James Toney, and others.

Others, like fellow former world champion Chris Eubank Jr., flocked to social media to express their condolences and pay honor to McCallum, who had been his trainer in the past.

McCallum was 68 years old.
