After sending her mother a text message saying that she was “feeling anxious,” a college student went viral on TikTok after she shared a video of her family going 600 miles to surprise her.
Breanna Lambert texted her mother a text message asking if she was free soon before 3 p.m.
“Please call me when you have some free time,” she wrote. Her mother replied, “Yes.” “Is everything alright?”
Lambert said, “Yeah, I’m just feeling anxious and wanted to talk.”
A little more than an hour later, as she was exercising at the gym, her parents surprised her. They recorded the touching event on video.
Lambert, who is a full-time student at Kansas State University, posted the event on TikTok. She said that her parents traveled around 600 miles from their home in southern Wisconsin to see her in Manhattan, Kansas. Lambert explains to PEOPLE that her parents were already on their way to her when she sent the text about the time-defying journey. She attributes it to “mother’s intuition.”)
Lambert is seen in the video exercising on a treadmill and spinning around in surprise as she sees her parents approaching toward her. Then she starts crying and offers them a hug.
Lambert tells PEOPLE, “My relationship with my parents is amazing.” “My mom is one of my closest friends, and our relationship has grown even stronger during the years that I have been away at college.”
She goes on to say, “I am also very close with my dad. He is just a very busy guy, the silent servant, if you will.”
She claims that she was not startled at all when her parents drove 600 miles to surprise her on a difficult day.
She states, “My parents have established that standard in the past.” “I was not surprised that they traveled so far just to give me a hug.” It has been a gift that they have always been there for me and my siblings.
Lambert also states that she understands that “not everyone receives this kind of parental love,” and adds, “I hope my video can be an inspiration to future parents, to always be there for your kids.” Knowing that I have them supporting me at all times gives me a great deal of comfort and stability in life.
So far, the video is already doing that, with commentators sharing their opinions.
One person remarked, “Something small like this can save your child’s life.”
I added another one: “This is the kind of parent I want to be for my children.”
