Slipknot’s Sid Wilson is recovering from major burns.

According to Instagram footage, the 47-year-old artist was hospitalized with “serious burns” after a campfire “explosion” on his property.

“Hey everybody, I had an explosion in my face,” Wilson, married to Kelly Osbourne, said in a Friday, Aug. 23 video. “I’m fine. Will be fine. But my face and arms were badly burned.”

He talked to the camera while laying on a hospital bed with an oxygen tube as doctors treated his injuries. The crew asked Wilson to sit up and breathe while dressing his wounds and taking his vitals throughout the film.

Watch the phone shake. Because I’m shaking and clutching it. Wilson said they were conducting additional X-rays to make sure I didn’t inhale fire.

He then pointed to his face and stated, “You see I’m singed over there.” My eyebrows burned. My mouth blisters. My arms are bad—both.”

The singer said he’ll be “alright” and won’t care “what it takes” to “see” fans “on tour.”

Wilson was seen traveling in an ambulance with bandages around his neck in a video uploaded a few hours later. He said he was sent “to another facility” with superior burn treatment equipment.

“You can see my lips got hit pretty bad,” he stated, exhibiting his swollen lips since his initial video. My arms are worse. My head will be shaved, so farewell long hair. It’s leaving.

“But everyone, I’m fine. I’m alright. I’m brave. Not precisely, but I’m hanging in there. I’m in excellent hands. I wanted to check in and say I’m OK. Obviously, talking to you as I do isn’t bad.”

He then answered fan questions regarding the burns, including how he got them. He sustained burns from a “bonfire” on his property with “leftover” flames, not “a show”. He said, “I got a little whoosh — fire,” while “working on the farm”.

“I’ll be in L.A. — this ain’t gonna stop me,” Wilson said of his band’s sold-out Sept. 13 and 14 California performances.

Slipknot performs in Oklahoma, Washington, and Indiana in the following weeks. Whether those gigs would be rescheduled when Wilson heals was not stated on the band’s website. Rocklahoma will host Slipknot on Sept. 1.
