According to reports, Drew Gordon, a former NBA player who was also the elder brother of Aaron Gordon, who plays for the Denver Nuggets, passed away at the age of 33.

The Denver Nuggets published a black and white photograph of the Gordon brothers on Thursday, May 30, as part of a post on X, which was previously known as Twitter. The photograph showed the twins with their hands touching while they were facing in opposing directions.

On the homage, the words “1990 – 2024 Drew Gordon” were written in all capital letters. Following the devastating news of Drew Gordon’s demise, the Denver Nuggets organization is in utter disbelief. Drew was far too young to leave this world, but his legacy will continue to live on in perpetuity via his three lovely children and all of the people he loved.

The statement continued by saying, “During this extremely trying time, our thoughts and prayers are with Aaron and the Gordon family.”

In a statement to ESPN, Drew’s agent Calvin Andrews announced that the former basketball star passed away on Thursday, May 30 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Portland, Oregon. PEOPLE’s request for a statement was not immediately met with a response from either Andrews or the Portland Police Department.

According to CBS Sports, Drew started his collegiate career at UCLA, where he participated in the men’s basketball program for the UCLA Bruins for a period of two years. In the following two seasons, he was a member of the New Mexico Lobos men’s basketball team after transferring to New Mexico for his junior year of college basketball.

Drew had a fantastic basketball career despite the fact that he did not make it into the NBA draft in 2012, despite the fact that he averaged at least 13 points and 10 rebounds in each and every game.

After that, Drew went on to play for the Dallas Mavericks in the Summer League, according to CBS Sports. After that, he went on to bounce about between other overseas leagues and the G League.

After that, he served as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers, an NBA club, during the 2014–2015 season, during which he participated in nine games.

After his stint with the Philadelphia 76ers, Drew reportedly maintained his career as a professional basketball player for close to 10 years, as reported by CBS Sports. In spite of the fact that he spent the most of his career playing in other countries, he was awarded the title of All-Star in France in the year 2015, and he will retire in the year 2023.
