According to Imelda Staunton, Downton Abbey will be returning for a third and final film in the series!
On Wednesday, the actress who played Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, who is 68 years old, revealed the news that there would be another edition in the franchise. This new installment is already a spinoff of the very famous television series that airs on ITV and PBS. Lady Maud Bagshaw, Queen Mary’s lady-in-waiting, was the primary character that Staunton played in the first two films.
There will be a film that is the last one. During the course of the episode, Staunton would say, “There you go.”
The presenter of the program, Zoe Ball, who seemed to be taken aback by the actress’s openness, followed up and inquired as to whether or not the actress is permitted to be releasing information about another project.
“That is really enormous. Wow. According to Ball, “I hope we haven’t gotten you into any trouble.”
“I don’t care,” Staunton, who is presently starring in Hello, Dolly! on London’s West End, said. “I don’t care.”
The Sun reports that production on the movie will start in the summer, and it is expected to have its debut at the beginning of 2025. Additionally, the publication adds that the executives of the studio have engaged Paul Giamatti to reprise his role as Harold Levinson, the brother of Cora Crawley, who is portrayed by Elizabeth McGovern. At the conclusion of the fourth season of Downton Abbey, Giamatti, who is now 56 years old, made an appearance in the Christmas special.
