Jamie Lynn Spears is revealing previously unknown details about her connection with her older sister Britney.
I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! included an interview with TV host Fred Sirieix on its most recent program, which aired on Saturday.Get Me Out of Here, the actress, now 32 years old, discussed her upbringing alongside the pop sensation Britney Spears and shared her thoughts on how she thinks about Britney in the present day.
Sieieix, who is 51 years old, initiated the discussion by inquiring of Jamie Lynn about her recollections of Britney’s memorable kiss with Madonna at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards and requesting that she explain how it came to be. “They went ahead and did it. She remarked, “I was at home watching it and thinking, ‘Oh OK, this will be fun tomorrow at school, can’t wait.'”
After then, Jamie Lynn spoke about how she has always looked up to her sister, even from a young age. She went on to say that she saw her sister’s accomplishments as the pinnacle of excellence. When it came to my sister, I was prepared to go even if I felt anything or if someone said anything to me. My response was something along the lines of, “Don’t talk about my sister, she’s the best.”
She continued by saying, “And so literally I just thought — and, by the way, in today’s world it would mean nothing — but it was this iconic moment that they went with, and it happened, and it’s what they did.” This was in reference to Britney Spears and Madonna’s legendary performance at the Video Music Awards, which also featured Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott.
Jamie Lynn reflected on the time when the performance took place and recalled her mother Lynne’s response, saying, “My mum was like, ‘It’s artistic, she’s expressing herself.’ ”
Sieieix couldn’t help but be intrigued and questioned the star of Sweet Magnolias, “Who became famous first?”
Britney, who is now 41 years old, is Jamie Lynn’s sister, and she is ten years her senior. Since I was approximately 6 or 7 years old, she had been renowned.
Frankie Dettori, one of the other contestants, joined in the discussion at that point and asked Jamie Lynn, “Is it true that you don’t get along with [Britney] now?”
Her response was as simple as, “I love my sister.”
For the 23rd season of the show, the mother of two traveled to the outback of Australia to fight for the title of Queen of the Jungle against Nigel Farage, a controversial ex-politician from the United Kingdom.
The alumna of Zoey 101 noted, just before she boarded the plane to Australia, that the program was “a nice chance to show who I really am.” She continued by saying, “There is literally every misconception you can have on a person that is about me, so I don’t take any of it seriously.”
The difficulty that Jamie Lynn has had in getting along with her elder sister has been one of the most contentious issues in her life. Britney and Jamie Lynn, who recently danced on Dancing with the Stars, maintained a tight friendship when they were growing up in their hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, despite the approximately 10-year age difference that separates the two of them.
Britney and Jamie Lynn have been close friends and collaborators for the better part of their lives and careers. “Jamie Lynn was aware that I was approaching her for assistance and that she was following me around. Britney Spears said, “I felt like she should have taken my side,” in reference to the time in 2018 when she was sent to a mental health institution.
The starlet also reveals her belief that Jamie Lynn made a monetary gain off of her state of sadness. “At the same time that I was battling the conservatorship and gaining a lot of attention from the press, she was writing a book that capitalized on it. Britney revealed this information in her autobiography. “She rushed out salacious stories about me, many of which were hurtful and outrageous.”
However, Britney also expresses the optimism that her relationship with Jamie Lynn may be saved in some of her writings.
“I will always consider her to be my sister, and I have the utmost respect for her and her lovely family. The singer of “Hold Me Closer” said that she is making an effort to feel more compassion than hatred toward both her and anybody else who she perceives to have harmed her.
