Kelly McGillis, who is now well-known for her gripping performances in films and on television, began her long and winding career by doing a variety of low-level jobs, such as waiting tables. Her standout performance was in the film “Reuben, Reuben,” which was nominated for an Academy Award and helped pave the way for her starring part in the box office hit “Top Gun.” The producers saw her potential and cast her in a variety of further shows as a result.

She came to the conclusion that she was homosexual when she was twelve years old, which was before she gained fame. She was successful, but the price of her fame was issues like panic attacks. She paid the price.
