At the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards, Shakira was both a famous performer and a doting mother to her daughter.
The Colombian singer, who is 46 years old, had an amazing time at the event with her boys Sasha, 7, and Milan, 9, at her side. The boys joined their mother on stage for the stunning song that she sang, “Acróstico.” After the performance, the boys were seen giving their mom a bear hug, which was a touching moment between a mother and her kids.
Later on in the evening, people clapped and yelled for her from the audience as she won the award for Song of the Year for “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53.” This was a category in which she was nominated for three different songs, so the audience was very excited for her.
During her victory speech, Shakira paid tribute to her kids by saying “that I will be happy.” She did so by stating in Spanish that she had made a promise to her sons “that I will be happy.”
“I have promised them that they will have a mother who will laugh as hard as she can, because they deserve it.”
She went on to explain that she wants to include that joy into the music that she makes and everything else that she puts out into the world, and she finished by saying, “As a friend once told me, there is nothing in the past.” Nobody remembers the past, just the future.”
The music video for “Acróstico,” which was released in May, also features Shakira’s children Sasha and Milan, whom she has with her ex-husband Gerard Piqué. Shakira may be seen at first singing while sitting at a piano, and the camera then gradually pans out to concentrate on pictures of her two boys. Sasha starts to sing and play the piano as the song proceeds, and his mother can be seen beaming next to him as he does so.

Being your mother is the one and only thing in this world that makes me feel really whole.
Despite the fact that Shakira and the ex-footballer went their own ways in June 2022, the singer has said that she is doing all in her power to “conceal” the situation from her children. In a prior interview with ELLE, she said the following: “I try to do it and to protect them, because that’s my number one mission in life.”
In addition to this, she is passionate about providing her boys with a life that is as close to typical as is humanly feasible. In the year 2021, Shakira gave an interview to ET Canada in which she said, “I can’t deny they can’t escape the reality that I’m a public person, as well as their dad.” “But we try to provide as much normalcy as we can, and live really as very simple people.”
