This year, the retired educator was the first woman to describe her emotions as ‘love’ when asked about them.
On this season of The Golden Bachelor, genuine emotions are beginning to surface. Because it was the first time he’d heard that since his wife Toni passed away in 2017, Gerry Turner broke down into tears during the episode of Bachelor Nation that aired on Thursday night. Ellen’s confession that she was falling in love was the first time he’d heard it since his wife.
But before the heartfelt revelation, Gerry had a pickleball group date that he needed to concentrate on. Along with Sandra, Susan, Nancy, April, Theresa, Kathy, and Faith, pickleball co-captain Ellen was there on that occasion. Also present were April and Theresa. Trista Sutter, the very first Bachelorette, as well as Joey Graziadei, who will soon be a star on The Bachelor, were both there.
Ellen and Kathy were triumphant after a tournament that went off without a hitch, with the exception of April’s plan to stage an injury in order to spend more time with Gerry.
However, Theresa and Kathy’s conflict was not yet resolved and continued to simmer. Theresa drew the retired educational consultant to put an end to their fight for good, but even when Theresa emphasized that her remarks weren’t “malicious,” Kathy urged her to “zip it” in the future. Theresa pulled Kathy to put an end to their feud for good.
When Theresa informed Gerry about the circumstance, Gerry was less than happy, and he told Kathy exactly how he felt, which caused Kathy’s resentment against Theresa to be flared once more.
In the end, Sandra was the one who was awarded the rose for the group date. This was primarily due to the fact that she skipped out on her daughter’s wedding in order to go on the date.

After that, Gerry had a one-on-one conversation with Leslie, then the three of them went on an ATV ride together before soaking in a hot tub.
“When I’m with him, I don’t have to worry about anything. It helps me feel like a unique individual. “You can’t compare this to anything else,” Leslie said to the cameras. “… I feel like he is the man I’ve been searching for for a long, long time.”
She confirmed this to Gerry before going on to say that she is a mother who has been childless for the last 22 years and has gone through two divorces.
“The feeling I have with her is just really warm, affectionate, closeness,” Gerry, who had just given Leslie a rose, said in a confessional. “… If things continue to progress like they have today I would absolutely see Leslie as someone I could leave here with at the end of the journey.”
Before beginning his remarkable chat with Ellen, Gerry presented Susan with a rose quartz and informed her that she reminded him of Toni at the cocktail party. He then moved on to his talk with Ellen.
Ellen expressed her anxiety to Gerry by saying, “The more I learn about who you are, the more nervous I get.” “You sparked something within of me that I didn’t even know I was missing until you did. I haven’t giggled, laughed, or kissed somebody in such a long time that I can’t even remember the last time I felt this wonderful. I’m so pleased, yet cautious, yet I feel the need and the urge to take a leap of faith and tell you… I’m falling in love with you, Gerry, and it’s extremely difficult.” “I’m so delighted, but afraid.”
“I realize it’s difficult. Your sentiment resonates with me. Gerry’s response was, “I’m in the same place,” and then he went on to tell the cameras, “The last time that happened was with my wife of 43 years.” When I was told that Toni had passed away, I believed that the world had come to an end. I never imagined that I’d see the world again, yet here I am.
When Ellen finally admitted how she felt, she told the cameras, “I am feeling like I just met the love of my life for the first time.” This made Ellen quite happy.

However, not everyone had a pleasant evening last night. While Sandra was ill in bed and had to skip the celebrations, Nancy was coping with a stress fracture that she got while playing pickleball. The chat that Nancy was having with Gerry was the moment when the evening took a turn for the worst. During their talk, Nancy informed Gerry, “You’re a lot more passionate with other people. I suppose you succeeded in limiting the options, but it’s possible that I don’t fall into that category.
Gerry said, “I’m really not going to contest that,” to which Nancy replied, “I understand and I wish you the best. I really hope that you are successful in your search.
After saying that, Nancy walked out of the home.
Gerry made one of the many difficult choices that were to come when he opted to split ways with Kathy and April at the rose ceremony.
“It’s kind of frightening to realize that we’re halfway through this journey, and we’re literally a week away from arriving in our hometowns,” said one of the travelers. When I offer someone a rose in the future, it indicates that I will be meeting their family. “That is actually quite terrifying right now,” Gerry said in front of the cameras. “I never in a million years would have anticipated that I would get to the depth of emotion that I now feel and still come to the conclusion that there can be only one at the end of the road. I want to discover the lady who completes me and whom I cannot imagine my life without.
