The previous week, when the proprietor of a fabric store in southern Brazil closed up shop for the evening, she turned off the lights and locked the door behind her, but she had no idea that the establishment wasn’t completely vacant.
She was unaware that earlier in the day, a stray dog had found his way inside. The dog was a small puppy. He’d been in hiding, awaiting the right time to make his move before coming out of the shadows.

The following morning, as daylight dawned, folks walking by the storefront could not help but notice an unexpected new addition to the window display of the fabric shop.
The lovable interloper was found there, discreetly tucked away in a demo bed for all to see.
“The whole city was talking about him,” Adri Xica, a local animal rescuer, told The Dodo. “The whole city was talking about him.” Everyone agreed that it had a stunning appearance. He even appeared on television!
Despite appearances to the contrary, the presence of the dog in the shop window was not solely a publicity stunt. It came with the implication that “I need a place to call home.”
“He was promoting himself,” Xica claimed. “He was advertising himself.”

The dog walked out of the fabric business without making a fuss on the day it reopened, but by that point, he had already made his imprint.
Xica and her coworkers were successful in locating the dog so that they could assist the owner with his cause.
They provided food for him, took him to the veterinarian, and acted as a point of contact for anyone who might be interested in adopting the dog.
And as expected, a willing participant came up to adopt it.

Thor does not need to beg or borrow a warm spot to rest his head anymore, thank goodness; these days:
Xica shared her observation that “now, he sleeps on his own sofa.”
