Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have chosen a name for their child that has a significant significance. The couple made the announcement on Wednesday that they had become parents to their fourth child, a newborn boy, with the assistance of a lady called Alexandra, who served as their surrogate and was recognized by the couple in the naming of their son.
Chrissy wrote about Alexandra in her essay, describing her as “the most incredible, loving, and compassionate surrogate we could ever imagine.”
“As soon as we started talking to her, I had a feeling that she would be an excellent companion for us. “Every one of our hopes and ambitions came true,” she wrote. I wanted to be friends with her, I wanted our children to play together, I wanted us to have dinner together, and I wanted to be able to put my head on her abdomen and feel the hiccups and movements of her unborn kid. I wanted them to be a part of our life for the maximum amount of time that was possible.
Chrissy added that Alexandra “fought to get ready for a second transfer” after the initial embryo did not make it through the transfer process. This included giving up “her own body” by undergoing many operations and suffering through “the mental toll” of doing so.
While everything was going on, Chrissy herself became pregnant and gave birth to a girl who she called Esti. In the latter stages of Chrissy’s pregnancy, she and John “were overjoyed to learn that Alexandra became pregnant with a little boy.”
Chrissy recounted that in order to celebrate, they had hot pot and watched Vanderpump Rules while holding their expanding tummies. Over the course of the previous year, both of their families had come to resemble one another more and more.
The next day, on June 19, Chrissy “got to witness the most beautiful woman, my friend, and our surrogate, give birth amidst a bit of chaos, but with strength and pure joy and love.” Chrissy’s friend was the surrogate who carried her child.
Chrissy wanted to express their gratitude to Alexandra for everything that she had done for their family by saying, “We want to say thank you for this incredible gift you have given us, Alexandra.” In celebration of all that Alexandra had done for them, Chrissy said this. And we are overjoyed to announce to the world that he has arrived, with a name that will be inextricably linked to you: Wren Alexander Stephens.
Wren was born exactly six months after Esti was brought into the world. Chrissy and John are also the parents of Luna, who is six years old, and Miles, who is four.
On Wednesday, John uploaded a picture that included all of his children. In the photograph, he is seen cuddling his two youngest children; Miles is seated on his lap, while Luna is beaming broadly in the backdrop of the image.
“Wren Alexander Stephens, our new love,” he captioned his image.
