During an interview on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Eva Longoria discussed her opinions on a prospective relaunch of the classic primetime soap opera Desperate Housewives and where her character, Gabrielle Solis, may be today. Longoria was there to promote her feature directorial debut, Flamin’ Hot. Longoria was there to promote her feature directorial debut, Flamin’ Hot.
When a fan of the show asked Longoria whether she would ever participate in the resurrection of the series, she said, “I would be the first to sign up.”
To put it simply, I adore it. I long for Gabby. But I assume that I’d be the only one to sign up,” she said, before Cohen remarked that “everyone else has sort of gone on.”
“Yes. But even the [showrunner] Marc Cherry adds, ‘I totally exploited those characters.’ Back in the day, each season would consist of 24 episodes, and we would film for a total of eight years under such conditions. We exhausted every possible resource from those individuals,” Longoria recounted, before adding with a wry smile, “There was nobody left on the street for me to sleep with.” I slept with anybody and everyone.
Desperate Housewives, which Cherry conceived of and served as an executive producer on, aired for a total of eight seasons on ABC between the years 2004 and 2012. Alongside Longoria’s performance as Gabrielle, the primary cast also included Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer, Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, and Marcia Cross as Bree Van de Kamp. Longoria played the lead role of Gabrielle.
Nicollette Sheridan played the role of Edie Britt, Dana Delany played the role of Katherine Mayfair, and Vanessa Williams played the role of Renee Perry. Brenda Strong narrated the series as the deceased neighbor Mary Alice Young.
When it came to Gabrielle, she had been a model before becoming a housewife and moving to Wisteria Lane with her husband, Carlos Solis (Ricardo Antonio Chavira). Carlos Solis played by Ricardo Antonio Chavira. In addition, she is known for having an affair with local teenager John Rowland (played by Jesse Metcalfe) during the first season of the show.
When asked about the possible whereabouts of her character in the present day, particularly if the Desperate Housewives franchise were to be restarted today, Longoria stated, “Gabby would definitely be an influencer.” “She’d be an Instagrammer,” you may say.
During an interview with ET that took place only a few days before she was scheduled to appear on Watch What Happens Live, Eva Longoria spoke at length about her time spent on the television show “Desperate Housewives” and how much she misses it today.

“I miss my time on that program so much, it’s crazy how much I adore that show… I long for Gabby. “I miss being Gabby; she was so fun, and she said and did things I wish I could say and do,” the 48-year-old added, before remembering how she would be “pinching myself” over what she got to do on the series.
And despite the fact that she has said that she would be the first person to sign up for a relaunch, Longoria is skeptical that it could truly take place, or at the very least achieve the same level of success as it did when it initially aired over 20 years ago.
“I’m not sure whether we’ll be able to put on the concert today. “I think we’d get canceled,” she added, noting that they would be “canceled in culture because it was so groundbreaking and we said and did so many things that were shocking at the time.” “I think we’d get canceled,” she stated again. I have no idea what these women are doing with their lives at this point in time.
By the time it reached the conclusion of its run, the question “What else? What other kinds of stories would we be able to tell with these women? And so this is Marc’s major, major issue; he’s like, ‘Why now?’ She went on to say that he does not want to reboot for the sake of rebooting.
