Both Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon are overjoyed with the accomplishments of their kid, a musician.
The Locksmith actor, 48, and The Morning Show actress, 47, had a party to celebrate the release of their son Deacon’s first album, A New Earth, and encouraged their millions of followers on Instagram to listen to the new music. The album is titled “Deacon,” and it was produced by their son, The Locksmith actor.
Ryan posted several images that he took during the event in a post, the first of which was a cute picture of the father and son teaming up for a shot while beaming broadly at the camera. In the photo, Ryan is seen wearing a basic white t-shirt with a red, black, and white sweater, while Deacon is seen wearing a black shirt with a circle neck and a white jacket with a checkered pattern.
Other photos showed Ryan making an announcement into a microphone as his son stood in the background with his arms crossed. There was also a close-up shot of the artwork for the record, which depicted Deacon, 19, kneeling in the midst of a desert and reaching into a pond with his right hand.

At the celebration, Witherspoon was seen standing with her two children, Deacon and Ava, who are 23 years old. Witherspoon is Ryan’s ex-wife and they have two children together. Witherspoon wore a long-sleeved green tie-top and black jeans, while Ava wore a red checkered sweater with black buttons. Both of them had black buttons on their sweaters.
The elated mother did her bit as well, as she posted a message on Instagram urging her 29.4 million followers to check out the new song that her son had created. She wrote, “Let’s goooo @deaconphillippe” beside a snapshot of Spotify’s “New Pop Picks,” which included his new single “Virus” (featuring Chain Arcade), and uploaded it on her Instagram Story.
Deacon, who started attending New York University in the fall, posted a collage of photographs and videos in January that showed his life in the dorm. He also gave a clue about some new songs that he has been working on in his dorm room, including a tune called “Guess.”
Ryan could not stop gushing over his son’s numerous accomplishments. In August of the previous year, he made his debut on season 3 of Never Have I Ever on Netflix and simultaneously released his first mixtape at the same time.
“I am so proud,” Ryan said on the television show Entertainment Tonight. “He will soon enroll in a music program at a collegiate institution. This is the main concern he has. Acting thing is something he enjoys doing, and he will do it according to how much of an appetite he has for it at any given time, but music is where his primary interest lies.
At the time, he also promoted the mixtape that his kid had uploaded on SoundCloud by remarking, “It’s fantastic. I can hardly wait for everyone to find out. It is really high-quality material. I’m really proud.”
