The blonde bombshell is a mysterious character that has never failed to captivate attention, as shown by the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Brigitte Bardot, and Farrah Fawcett. Her picture started appearing on billboards in Los Angeles in the 1980s, but there was never any explanation given; all that was given was her name: Angelyne. As more and more enormous billboards featuring full body images of Angelyne in seductive poses and typically dressed in pink began to dot the landscape of the City of Angels, questions began to flood in about who this mystery woman was and what those billboards were for. One of the most frequently asked questions was “What are those billboards for?”

Since Angelyne’s first billboard appeared in Los Angeles in the 1980s, members of the media have been making fruitless efforts to learn more about her past. It seemed as if she would never offer a direct or detailed response, instead stating simply that she was brought up in the Midwest and that both of her parents had passed away when she was a child. She blamed this as the basis for her attention-seeking behaviors. She did not mention any of her siblings, previous relationships, marriages, or children in any of her statements. Although she had never verified her birth date or age, it was inferred that she was in her late 20s when the billboards were originally put up. She never did confirm any of these things.

The billboards have an air of mystique of their own, as well. Aside from contrived pictures of Angelyne with her hair flowing in a blonde ponytail and a phone number, there was very nothing else on them that provided any indication of what it was that she performed. Was she a model in some way? A famous actress? A singer? The fact that she was often seen zipping about town in a pink Corvette while wearing full make-up and hair as well as clothing that was always magnificent hues of pink contributed to the mystique around her.

An exposé on Angelyne was published in 2017 by The Hollywood Reporter. It included details on her family background, youth, and early adulthood. It was revealed in the report that Angelyne’s true name was Ronia Tamar Goldberg, and the information came from public records. Her birth took place in Poland on October 2nd, 1950, however her parents had met in the Chmielnik ghetto during World War II. They had survived lengths of time in concentration camps, and after freedom they fled to Poland, where they discovered that the country was remained unfriendly to Jews. After that, they boarded a ship for Israel, where they remained residents until 1959 before making the move to the United States.

They made their home in Fairfax, which is located in the Los Angeles area, and Goldberg’s mother passed away in 1965. Michael Strauss, a Beverly Hills executive, was Goldberg’s former spouse; nevertheless, the couple divorced in 1969 after having been married for many years. Goldberg was referred to by Strauss as “the most attractive redhead,” and he also said that “she was unusual, beautiful, and brilliant.”

Scott Hennig, a personal friend of Angelyne’s and a former aide of hers, cast skepticism on the discovered “facts.” He said:

“Every few years, this nonsense rears its absurd head, and it only seems to become worse and worse.” The one that stood out to me the most was this three hundred pound black lady who claimed to be her mother. “I’m your long-lost brother,” “your twin sister,” “I’m your long-lost brother.” Just another day in the life of a Hollywood star. Renee Goldberg is a name that is completely foreign to me. It’s so absurd that it’s hilarious, and it’s obscene.

Before she met Hugo Maisnik, she had some experience in the music industry during the 1970s. She participated in the band that her lover was in and also released some of her own albums. Angelyne’s first billboard, which said “Angelyne Rocks” and was erected on Sunset Boulevard in February 1984 with the assistance of Maisnik, who owned a display printing company, was printed by Maisnik.

In 1995, it was claimed that she had been on around 200 billboards in the Los Angeles area, and she said the following to The Los Angeles Times: “I believe I’m all about inclusion and loving one another… I’m like a doll. There is no barrier based on race. I have a single-minded mindset that can be summed up as “I like everyone.”

Emmy Rossum will play the title role in the upcoming television series “Angelyne,” which will premiere in May 2022. The series will be based on her narrative and will have the same name. Rossum said in an interview with Today that she was interested in playing the part because she thought Angelyne to be motivational.

“She is someone who I have respected for the fact that I believe she is a profound and insightful lady who stands for some kind of positivity as well as pink and whimsy and some form of the ultimate dream. “She is a performance artist in the flesh,” the other person said.

Angelyne was not involved in the making of it in any way, although she did provide her opinion to The Guardian about Rossum’s depiction of her. In her words:

“It’s an awful attempt at parody. You should realize that they have attempted to portray Marilyn Monroe a great number of times, but they have never been successful. Marilyn, on the other hand, was an actor, while I created myself. It’s not something I want to see at all. When someone distorts a lovely piece of art like that, it’s upsetting to see. She has a really elongated face.”

She continued by saying that she was unable to watch the performance because, as an artist, she just could not bring herself to do so. I do my best work in the reflection. Everything, including my eyes, my nose, and my lips, have to be just so. To have something taken from you and ruined by another person is excruciating. Even trying to watch it makes me sick.

Angelyne is getting ready to publish her own version of her life narrative, in which she will discuss “what happened to me as a kid, how I made it, and how I speak to the guys in a man’s world,” as she said in the same interview with The Guardian.

Now is a great moment to be a fan of the bombshell who once said that it was “so much fun being famous for nothing,” especially for those people who are interested in learning more about her. Even though the advertisements are no longer scattered over the Los Angeles skyline, Angelyne can still be seen whizzing about the city, and she is rather difficult to miss.
