At first, Vikki believed she was dealing with ordinary health issues — frequent nosebleeds, sinus problems, and lingering discomfort. But as time passed, the symptoms became impossible to ignore. The pain intensified, her nose began to change shape, and constant migraines took over her daily life, signaling that something far more serious was happening.

The diagnosis was shocking: squamous cell carcinoma inside her nose. Overnight, life changed for the young mother as she faced a battle she never expected. What began as minor symptoms quickly turned into a life-altering medical journey filled with uncertainty, fear, and difficult decisions.

Vikki underwent major facial surgery known as a subtotal rhinectomy, followed by chemotherapy and radiation. Recovery brought its own challenges, including walking around with a plastic “nose cup” taped to her face — a visible reminder of everything she had endured. Everyday tasks became emotionally and physically demanding.

Beyond the medical struggle, Vikki faced the emotional weight of accepting her changing appearance. She speaks openly about the moments of doubt and vulnerability that came with looking in the mirror. Rebuilding confidence was not immediate, but through resilience, support, and self-acceptance, she slowly began to reclaim her sense of self.

Today, Vikki’s story is one of strength, honesty, and courage. By sharing her experience, she hopes to help others facing similar battles feel less alone. Her journey is not just about surviving cancer — it’s about rediscovering confidence, embracing change, and moving forward with hope.
