Actor Quinton Aaron, best known for his role in The Blind Side, recently revealed a shocking situation involving his marriage that came to light after he emerged from a coma.
In January, the 41-year-old was hospitalized in Atlanta after collapsing and was placed on life support. His family later confirmed he had experienced a spinal stroke. Speaking in a new interview with ABC News, Aaron explained that when he regained consciousness after four days, he discovered that his wife, Margarita DeLeon, was still legally married to another man.
Aaron said that throughout their relationship, DeLeon had insisted she had been divorced for over a decade. He added that she even claimed to have the necessary documents and told their wedding officiant she could provide proof of the divorce.
According to Aaron, hospital staff eventually removed DeLeon from his room because she was not legally authorized to make medical decisions for him. During his hospitalization, a lawyer reportedly found records showing DeLeon was still married to a man she wed in 1992, despite her marriage to Aaron in December 2024.
In response, DeLeon challenged Aaron’s version of events during an ABC News interview that aired on Good Morning America on April 20. She said she had not realized her divorce had never been finalized. She recalled explaining the situation to Aaron in the hospital, saying she had been unaware of the issue. Her former husband also stated he believed their divorce had been properly completed years earlier.
Aaron also spoke about his recovery following the stroke, noting that the experience made him more attentive to his health after years of ignoring warning signs from his body.
Aaron rose to fame starring alongside Sandra Bullock in The Blind Side and has continued working in Hollywood, including roles in recent projects like Experiment 77 and War Dawgz.
