Donald Trump and Melania Trump made a three-day state visit to the UK last year, where they were welcomed upon arrival in Windsor by Prince William and King Charles. The Princess of Wales drew attention in a refined and elegant outfit—something that did not go unnoticed by Trump. As they greeted each other, he reportedly shared a short, three-word compliment about Kate.

Accompanied by Melania, Trump traveled to Windsor and spent the night at Windsor Castle. Although the visit had been formally arranged following an invitation from King Charles earlier that summer, it was Prince William and Kate Middleton who first received them when they arrived.

As Trump and Melania stepped off Marine One, they were greeted by the royal couple. Kate quickly became a highlight of the moment, earning praise not only for her graceful manners but also for her sophisticated style. She wore a tailored, double-breasted coat dress with a fitted waist, paired with suede pointed heels and a “Neso” hat designed by Jane Taylor, according to reports.

Her look was further elevated by a delicate netting detail partially covering her face. Fashion experts later described her outfit as a perfect seasonal statement, reinforcing her reputation as a modern style icon. Coordinated accessories, including a vintage Chanel handbag and her bold color choice, added to the overall impact of her appearance.

During the arrival, Trump was also seen cautioning Melania as she walked down the aircraft steps. Later, as he greeted William and then Kate, a lip-reading expert claimed that Trump offered the Princess a flattering remark. According to the interpretation, he told her, “You’re so beautiful,” a comment that added a personal touch to the formal occasion.
